How to make a vertical axis wind turbine(simplified)

In this video we have discussed about some of the aerodynamics of basic wind blades and a simplified design of a vertical axis wind turbine.Some of the basic solidworks features have been discussed here including points through XYZ points and symmetry mates.
We'll be soon uploading the simulations of it .

Salam brother, i'm doing a final year project on vertical axis wind turbines and found your videos very helpful. I'm thinking of doing this design and improve it, so in min 12:40 you mentioned we can utilize the positive lift of the surface of the blade to gain more power, my question is how could that be obtained? Walikumussalam brother. Are you using lift base vawt or drag based? I wanted to make a prototype for the drag which can utilize the positive drag as well. The design is a bit different, but I believe it would work. So in lift base vawt, we are limited by betz limit, in fact a lot less, but in that case, we would be making like a hybrid one which use both drag and lift. Mathematical model of that would be difficult but physics is very interesting for that

Bruh, How to design a 3 blades based Vertical Windmill setup (blades should be made of low cost light weight ad hard material) and show the minimum force for rotation of the blades in ANSYS? Can you make a detailed video for this please?

one of my friends did the same experiment. their prototype was bigger(1 feet in lenght) for open channel flow in water. for 50mm, the rpm and rotational torque will be very significant... you can try about the half of the length and keep the rest to support the torque. but my experience says if it is a prototype, it will be difficult to machine. if simulation, just scale up everything no mater which software you use. I have used catia, solidworks and ansys, all give you such features. best of luck brother. :)

In case of path and profile, make sure both are sketch, not curve. This is a possibility for not accepting. You can select a plan and put the curve on it and then select. One more thing, make sure that the path doesn't create intersection geometry

I’m wondering maybe the sw versions difference leads to this？(my version is 2012) I searched many examples of swepting whose paths are all inside the profiles. This path is not inside the profile.

I don't think it's version problem. Try piercing relationship with the two curves. It helps in case of different planes
