Dude this is amazing!! I have a 3k sq. ft plot of wheat and was dreading threshing by hand over chicken wire. Thank you for sharing this!

Fantastic idea. We are definitely going to give this a try. Hopefully the harvest is good this year.

That's a good , inexpensive system for small quantities 👍👍. I used a small home style cement mixer also with chains attached to the paddles in the drum . Just turn it on and feed it ATB.

@@ThorHavenFarm actually. I originally got the mixer to mix feed and about a year or so later started theshing oats

Do you ever get the chains scraping the sides of the bucket and scraping off bits of plastic in with the wheat?
@johntexan4165 Жыл бұрын
Take it a step further. Cut the bottom out and put a mesh screen large enough for the wheat berries to fall through. Stack it onto another bucket to catch the berries.

Good looking invention you made. I made one too several years ago. I used 3/8" piece of rebar with 2 pieces of smooth lamp chains welled to it. It works really well. In fact, threshing is turning out to be the most rewarding part after winnowing. Love to send you photo of my invention but I'm not able to attach the picture to this comment.

like how you fastened the lid to the bucket. I'm curious to see if the chain shatters the grain as well or not
@ThorHavenFarm Жыл бұрын
Nope, does a great job, I think cause the grain is free to move around in the bucket instead of being trapped between two objects
