Jean and I picked up two barrels from Blackland Distillery last year to build into our new bar. The sanding alone is incredibly time consuming! Bravo to you!

Yeah these projects are not for those who think it'll get done overnight LOL I can't believe we got it right the first time! We also got a Laws barrel so we can turn it into a whiskey storage with turn styles. Hope that works out the first time too!

Ha! It sure was….took a few weeks just to get the bare bones together. Funny thing is it took my wife a year to finally get the tile work done LOL

Thx for watching! We used a 10” copper sink. Anything bigger and we risked the barrel head being compromised.

Move over Isreal! Now I want this beautiful woman to show how to make whiskey bottle lamps and chandeliers. Then perhaps a set of ice tea glasses or bird feeder. ...You get the idea. Fun video, and thanks for not drinking whiskey while operating power tools.

How did you eliminate the smell. I have an old Jack Daniels barrel and it smell is very strong!

Once we opened up the barrel, I used a grinding wheel to sand the inside of char and loose bits. That pretty much much took care of most of the smell (although ours smelled like pancake syrup). We also gave the outside a clear coat to protect the wood.
