Omg I love making these and you are such a great instructor. after 2 weeks I have made 5 for Christmas gifts. I actually found 2.75 round rings and used heavier 22 gauge wire with 6mm swarovski crystals and they make awrsome Christmas tree ornaments or sun catchers.

enjoyed the tutorial..but...why use so much wire? wasteful :/
@AbbiBerta9 жыл бұрын
Tamara Scallion Hi Tamara. Each tree is made differently. Depending on the twists and turns, some will use more wire than others, so it's better to be prepared with extra wire. Another reason why excess wire is used is so that there is enough to grab while coiling. I usually like to have at least and inch and a half that I can grab with either my fingers or my pliers if necessary, so I can get tight, uniform coils. This way, I don't risk marring or kinking the wire that will be staying on the tree. To each, his or her own techniques and preferences, I suppose. I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial and hope you have fun creating!
