Dont use newspaper as they contain toxic ink and material and it is not good for your plant.if you want you can use cardboard or any paper without ink

I would suggest chopping up your food in a food processor. They will consume the food much faster and you will have your castings much faster. After the food processor I freeze all my food, pu it in a quart glad plastic bin and then when ready to use just pop in microwave and feed. GL

Is there a size or consistency you're going for with the processor? For instance, pea-sized versus puree? I'm gathering info before start my own compost bin, and eventually garden, in my l apartment.
