The touch is very nice and so sweet, because sewing is not a hobby/career exclusively for women and it is easy to overlook the men who watch and enjoy her videos. It is very much appreciated. A hundred years ago it would be appropriate to call her a "doll" (yes, complement intended.). Sadly, this kind of respect and honor is almost completely gone in our modern society. This is one of the things I love about her.

Five years, pah! So I made one yesterday and it went well. Today I tryed a second one and added flapps to not only use it as a pin cussion but as a sewing clip cussion too. I addet a felt base because I realy fear to pin trough the padding. Know I am thinking, she will NEVER read that comment after all this years. But I feel it is important to Show, that Evelyns Videos still have an impact and inspire.

Great tutorial. Thank you. I made one today, super quick. Local store holding a sale, so I bought a bangle. I used the black velvet cushion that it sat on in it's box as the pin cushion. Oh, and as I can get a bit over keen when sewing, I put a cut down to size old credit card at the base so that I won't pin myself. And I only drew blood once when sewing the cushion to the bangle. RESULT! 😁

B Smith great idea!
@kgs22804 жыл бұрын
B Smith, i really like your idea of using an old credit card for the base. I kept envisioning having to make the stuffed part really tall to keep from getting poked by the needles going through the open spaces of the bracelet. I was thinking I’d have to measure the length of the pins and stuff higher than that length so that even pushing them in all the way wouldn’t prick me. And cutting out a piece of metal and forming it to fit the bracelet would be way too much work! (Yes, i do overthink things!). The credit card solves all of that. Thank you.

Yesss! I bought a bangle off a non domestic site we'll say, jt looked pretty in the pictures and didn't expect it to be real silver but at least expected it to be silver plated metal...it was not. It was horribly cheap looking silver painted plastic. I thought I wasted by dollar, but I did keep it on the off chance I could use it somehow. I got a life lesson and a pincushion bracelet for only a buck. Can't beat that.

I watched this video a year ago and wanted to make one of these awesome wrist pin cushions, but I couldn’t find a cuff bracelet that was just right. Now, here I am a year later, and I finally have made one of these for myself! I gave up trying to find a cuff locally because there apparently just aren’t any, so I did what I always do: looked on Amazon, and found the PERFECT one! It’s made of silver filigree which is excellent for poking your needle through to attach your fabric & stuffing. It was only $4 or $5, which I feel was totally worth it. Not only is it perfect for making this pin cushion, but it’s really pretty! Which is a definite bonus 👍🏻 I just finished making it and it looks wonderful; I’m so happy that it all came together . Thank you for the tutorial for this beautiful bracelet pincushion. It's so elegant. A few years ago I took some scraps of quilting cotton fabric, a big roll of wide elastic, and a sheet or two of template plastic (to keep pins from stabbing into wrists,) and made about 10 or 12 wrist pin cushions for my sewing group. They loved them! Mine was sent to my mother in America (I had it on one day when I had a video chat with her, and she just had to have it!) Then one of our group moved from England to Australia, of all places! :D She left behind her sewing stuff, including her little handmade pin cushion. So I finally had one to call my own, but I find that it's too small for my purposes now, so I ordered a bracelet/cuff from eBay and it came yesterday. I'm so excited to find a scrap of fabric to make into my first Evelyn pin cushion. Hooray!!

I use wool to stuff my pincushions. I chopped off the top half of one of my husbands discarded Stockman wool socks and rolled it up. I then covered it in a cotton scrap, and added elastic to fit my wrist. The lanolin in the wool keeps the pins from rusting, and helps them slide into any fabric easier. You can use new wool roving as well if you prefer new, or can't find a wool sock. > Tom's wife Pam
