Great job on the DIY absorption panels! The only thing I'll say is that everyone should always wear sturdy woodwork gloves when building. As accidents can happen. Touching Mineral wool/fiberglass without gloves it can make some people itchy. Also should always wear a mask to ensure no wood dust or mineral wool dust gets in your airways. Won't kill you, but can make you sick or a allergic reaction!

Looks really good! Though the plywood part seems a little wasteful. Maybe instead you can cut from the edge of the plywood into 4 pieces. Two small and too big pieces to get the same effect you have by cutting out the middle. But that's just me. Either way they came out great.

I considered that early on but realized the integrity of the panel would suffer. I used the plywood as a guide for the side walls and to attach them securely. I find that it was a much better design choice when not being excessively frugal.

They look great! What did you spray the boxes with after staining?

Varathane water based Polyurethane. It's all they had in stock at Home Depot at the time. There's three coats. In hindsight I should have mentioned it but I also thought anyone doing this sort of thing would want to use their own sealer or staining methods.
