The *pit spline* method is wrong. I used your method and the fast lane worked perfectly but the pit didn't. After looking at some of the existing tracks I found the proper way to do it: 1. Start a couple of turns before pit entry 2. Press "Record Pits" 3. Drive through the pits (just through the fast lane, don't pull over in your pit) 4. Reach a couple of turns after pit exit. 5. Press "Stop recoding" On Kunos's track they have the middle of the spline (0.500) about half way down the pitlane. Thank you for your video. It helped me a lot to get my track working.

Small tip - Pressing "Save Ai" is only relevant to those settings you see in the box. The AI line saves automatically once you do a complete lap... as .candidate in the folder as you said. There's no need to keep pressing save AI.

This tutorial is wrong about recording pit lines. You start recording the pit line in the final turn, drive straight through the pits, go through T1, stop recording, exit sim, rename file. You do not do a full lap. Also you don't need to press save ai as it only does anything when you're editing the values for a car. Track lines get saved on exit.

thanks for this. but can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? first i track the ai pit lane from last corner tp pit to first corner. then I start tracking ai fast lane a few meters in front of the starting line and I finish a few meters behind the starting line. but in a race, many ai cars stop/crash at the starting line or crash into the pitwall...

Never start recording the AI fast lane AFTER the S/F line. Always start BEFORE the the S/F line. The first lap is a throw away every time. You must do a minimum of 2 complete laps before you exit. It usually takes me around 5 to get a good one at speed anyway. Also AI line boundaries are very important. They are the red lines when the AI app is open. They define where the AI can drive. AI do not know that walls are there so if the red line is on the other side of a wall they will hit that wall. If that is the case you need Esotic's AI line app found on RaceDepartment. His app allows you to record new boundary lines separate from the main fast line.

When I record the racing line I also can not stop it. I click the red blinkink button but it doesnt stop. It contionues to recotd. I tried hitting SAVE AI but that just maces my game crash and it creates a candidate file with 1kb size. Do you know what can be the cause? Thanks very much for advice

Hello friend, I tried to follow the tutorial to make new "fast_line and pit_lane", on the Monaco faux 1972 by Legion track, since the current one, most cars hit the new detour that is a little lower than in the 1966 version of Monaco. The files that they are creating, they are not good, or I am doing something wrong. Do I need to run the track at a slow speed, for the AI to recognize later or fast? When I change the files, I'm going to test it, and I see the AI cars walking down the track, they don't do it correctly, they climb on the curb, and they keep hitting the detour. Maybe you can create the files in question. Thank you very much in advance.

um what do i do if now candidate files are not getting created in the ai folder? * i'm hitting save after doing 2 laps * I can see the pink line ingame, so it's getting created and saying ai.line saved * made sure the ai folder has everyone permissions just incase * tried both KS tracks and modded tracks

@unleasheddrivers1281 Aparently, I did a good "fast-lane" lap. However, AI continues to do some weird things in the finish line. They just slow down and waves for no reason (cause I didn't slow down at all or wave in my record laps) in that same spot: the finish line. I dunno if limiting FPS with Rivatuner can affect somehow the fast lane record, or it's other issue... Maybe, not too many people are having this problem

that sounds like an incomplete track, or an open ended track like a hill climb. i had that happen with a mod track i was trying recently, it was incomplete and had an error message and the wrong track map. it would only work in practice or hotlap, but no sessions that have other cars.

I have a problem. My first time when I started testing my track everything was fine. But now after recording and saving the purple line goes back and forward for 20 or so meters before start/finish line. That messes up AI and cameras are not working. When I'm recording, the line is smooth. But when I import it in editor or reload track scene it's messed up.

Is it really that easy? That's cool. I will try it on a track that has a huge banked turn but the modder made the ai come off the banking to go through chicanes. I guess it's done that way to be true to life since they do that at the real track to keep speeds down but I want the ai to go full speed on the banking.

im so confused, i see so many people say its a great app, but no one is asking how it install it, cuz for the past 30 min ive been trying to work out how to get it working in ac and i just cant, could anyone here maybe help me? i suspect that some files have to go in cfg and others in the apps file, and those images in the images file, but thats not enough it seems

put the compressed file in your AC folder, than unpack it there. The folders will go where they are meant to go as long as you havent changed any names. There is also an option you have to turn On in content manager (Settings>Apps>AI Line Helper- check box) to allow the app to show on screen. I have also heard that some versions of CSP might interfere with it.

How can I make the AI brake on a specific part of the track. There is a part (like a hill) it's flying over there. On my recording....I passed slowly. But the AI is going full throttle. Any suggestions?

there is another file you can edit called HINTS. i havent done it yet, but i learned about it last night while trying this stuff out.... still learning about it tho, so i can't say how to use it. maybe you can find a video about the HINTS edit?

So it seems you can only record one path that all cars will use? It would be nice to have some variety, to represent some different AI personalities and experience levels at a given track. This also creates a problem at Daytona. At that track, the fastest cars need to make use of the outside line on the outer oval, but production class cars don't need to go out that far. Those cars can be faster if they stay low because it's less distance to travel, and they're not fast enough to need the high banks. I guess there's no good solution for this, other than manually replacing the AI file before each race? Too bad you can't have multiple files with some criteria that defines when they'd each be used. This becomes an even bigger issue in mixed-class scenarios or "track day" mode, where in real life it's routine for the faster cars to be on the outside, passing the lower class cars that are on the inside. Unfortunately the AI in this game gets stuck behind slower cars and gets confused on how to pass. If they had separate lines it would mitigate that. Anyway, knowing how to change the AI line is a big help, thank for posting this. I'm looking forward to trying this at the SimTraxx Shelton Ridge track, which I love but it comes with a broken AI. The included AI can't use the pit at all, and it wobbles like a pack of drunk drivers on the main straightaway as it passes the start/finish line. Hopefully recording some new files will fix that.
