Hey my friends
I'm sorry I could not film a little more to show you how powerful and fast that engine is but something happened with speed control then I could not get started more do not know what happened it just died
but the engine is awesome
There is more to watch here:

you won't have long fun with this translation. The engine needs a strong reduction to get enough torque to the rear wheel. Due to your gear ratio, the engine does not come up to speed under load and the wheel torque is hardly higher than on the engine. As a result, the motor is working in the catastrophic efficiency range and the motor will always draw the maximum current because it is massively overloaded. On a 26 inch bike you need to have 300 RPM on the rear wheel for about 40 km / h. Since the engine is about 4000 RPM under load, you can translate with 10-15: 1. That then increases the torque from approx. 5 Nm on the motor to 50 - 75 Nm on the wheel. That would be ideal

What would you suggest? I wish to try a electric lawnmower
@pyroheimwerker2730
@pyroheimwerker2730 3 жыл бұрын
The engine as in the video is very good. You only have to translate for a relatively short time, because the engine makes a lot of revs and the wheel does not. This ratio also allows the low torque from the motor to be brought to a high level on the wheel. I built an electric e-scooter with the same engine. This has a 15 inch rear wheel and the ratio is 10: 1 (11 tooth pinions on the motor to 110 chain sprocket at the rear). As a result, despite my 100 kg, I can climb a 15% incline and still manage 30 km / h. In the video it is maybe 2: 1 that would mean that the bike makes almost 2000 rpm. With a 26 inch bike this corresponds to approx. 260 km / h. Imagine the bike is pedaling to 260 km / h. You wouldn't be able to walk a meter. Just like the car doesn't start in 7th gear

@@nierkanierkaha6889 16:64 corresponds to the 4000 rpm motor being reduced to 1000 rpm on the wheel, but that's not enough. 1000 rpm is still too fast and the torque on the wheel is too low for inclines

Have been eyeballing a vevor motor for a couple months now.. their kits seem to have the same motor, just different controllers.. on their site, it says it will run backwards, therefore will do regen. I have an older Kona Ute, unfortunately non-disc frame, with plenty of space in the rack/rear triangle area, where if run backwards, I can couple it(motor) to a 53 tooth chainring I've had, machined to 6 bolt disc rotor pattern.. he's running only 48 V.. They go up to 72, but even then, 9 tooth sprocket it comes with going to a 53 (1/6 ratio) seems undertorked.. here he's running something between 24 -28 tooth to 10 on the motor, so 1/2.5 to 1/3 ratio and it's way high geared.. he's got almost zero acceleration, and I doubt he's even close to the power band.. also something has to be said about the batteries and wires used to deliver the juice.. I'll make a vid when I make mine..)

Hi! Im building a similar build for my electric bike, and i have a question about the rotation of the motor. I've built my diy bike thats similar to your, and it using the smae exact motor your using, but the motors spinning the wrong direction. How can I reverse the direction of the motor? I have it hooked up to a 2 pin rocker switch and a 22.2v 1400mah battery and it all works, but how would i have to change it if i wanted to make it go the opposite direction? Its going clockwise now, but i want it to go counter clockwise. If i swap the connectors on the motor ( like connect positive motor wire to negative battery wire and negative motor wire to positive battery wire ), would that work?

But the lowest sprocket is 28 tooth on the rear and that leaves a drive ratio of around 2.5 and was not sure if that is enough torque to get a trike moving or if the gearing is to high and burn out the motor? That's not gonna last long, the way you mount that motor to the frame, you need something much more solid for the long term and as many comments say, your gear ratio is way off. I have mounted on my bike same motor and controller as you, at 52v battery pulls about 38amps maximum and about 2000w maximum and the gear ratio is about 8:1, 74t wheel sprocket and 9t motor sprocket and maximum speed is about 32-34 mph. Also the problem with this motor is not very efficient as I was expecting, is waisting about 700w with no load. I always recommend a hub motor, it is more efficient and lasts longer. I have a 1500w hub motor and is waisting only 170w with no load
