@@quiltculture Sorry - I'm a pensioner and don't know about our local school systems but thanks for the offer. My Granddaughter is a maths teacher but lives a few hours away. My niece and hubby are both teachers but also live in another town. I'll ask them next time we message each other.

My 31-year-old grandson is autistic and he loves to cook. (He's a great cook!) He specializes in grilling, making BBQed ribs and smoking briskets. Thanks to your video, I'm going to make your apron using a light weight canvas. I'll add a loop for hanging a towel from, so he won't use the apron to wipe is hands. (He's a great cook...though sometimes a bit messy!) Thank you for teaching me how to make this apron.

Hello there. I am so excited to be a part of this journey. I have printed off both child & adult patterns/directions and ordered 25 labels to start out with. We have one grandson (4) that is somewhere on the higher end of the Autisim Spectrum. I plan on making aprons for the school he attends right now in Boulder, CO, the school he did go to in 21/22 and is near us here in Florida. Also 2 schools just south of St Louis. Where we have family.Thank you for your wonderful tutorial and for allowing us to be part of this awesome project.

I have high functioning autism, and love to sew. Thanks for making this video. I look forward to making this apron soon. One question. I looked at the pattern and did not see a width for the fabric used. Do you know if it's different than the children's pattern? My local fabric store sells fabric in 45 and 60 inch widths would that work?
@quiltculture
@quiltculture Жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you are going to make aprons. 45 inch fabric was used in the pattern. Batik is ideal because both sides look the same. If you were to use regular quilting cotton you would need to cut the pocket off and sew it back on for the fabric to be going in the right direction facing out. I hope this helps. Please let us know how many you donate and in what city and state so we can update our donation list.

@@quiltculture what about making them 12 inches, instead of 8
@quiltculture
@quiltculture Жыл бұрын
That's possible but we wanted the Apron to be long and cover their clothes to better protect them and keep their clothes clean during sensory activities. If you are making one for a specific child and want to make the pockets 12 inches you can. Please be sure you let us know what city and state you are donating in and the quantity so we can add it to the list on our website.
