agree, french cleat is an absolut perfect solution for your workshop, I need to redo mine but this time I will 45 degree angle on both sides much much easier to cut and cleats closer to each other

Yes is the best!, a new tip that I learned.. cut more 45 clips that you need.. to get extra strips.. i bought new tools and I have to make more .. now i always have extra in case I buy a new tool.

Anyone notice the wrong-way-round cleats at 3:16? He managed to fit the entire board like that then it magically sorts itself out at 4:06! It's always better to note learning experiences on a build vid. We all take wrong turns but failing to point them out helps no-one. Turns it from 'look what I can do' to 'this is what you can do'. Nice end result - neat storage and room to expand!

@@watcherick4433 Hi Erick, the content is great and it's not the quality of the edit I was commenting on. The point I was making is that you should have highlighted the rework you had to so that all could learn. Similarly the layout was initially too tight to allow cleated stations to be fitted/removed so you had to increase the spacing. This is all good stuff that could have been passed on to others. You've got some great content and good vids for DIY. Keep it up, top stuff 👍

Just a note for your safety. It made me cringe when I was watching you cut these pieces... When using the table saw to cut an angle, you want the fence on the other side of the blade, so the blade tilts AWAY from the fence. Not towards it. Also you need to use a push stick, never pull the workpiece through. The only reason you didn't get any kick back when making those cuts its because you have a splitter (the thing after the blade). You never want to trap the work piece (wood) between the fence and the blade, its perfect conditions for injury. Otherwise, nice job. I am doing some research to make my own French cleat tool holders.

To measure.....take 1/2 of the width + 1/2 of the height to get the exact 45 degree cut

Suggestion if you plan to install the cleat wall in one piece. Cut the bottom of your plywood wall at 45 degrees. Install a leveling cleat on your 2 x 4s. Rest the wall in the cleat then nail it. Use the resting cleat for more walls.

I drill a hole with HammerDrill and then I used tapcon screws with a washer.
