Great tutorial. I'd suggest perhaps boxing the bottom corners to have a bit more storage space and to have space for a layout board to fit so if you've got a block laid out it will fit.

Thanks Kimberly,for showing your sewing stitching in progress. This helps so much in my understanding what and where you are sewing! I usually warm up my pressing surface with the iron,then lay the vinyl on the warm surface to remove those folds .

Finally getting around to making some of these. I saw the "June Taylor Zippity-Do Done" zippers and suggested FQS order some. Now I have some to do this project - so much easier and no zipper foot needed! Have also seen that some ppl use a low heat on the dryer to warm the vinyl to get out wrinkles.

I just finished my bag - I had some problems trying to use the tissue paper to sew the vinyl. I tried a small piece putting the vinyl next to the feed dogs and sewing with the cotton strip on top -- and it worked great! (I have a Brother Quilt Club 1300 and turned off the pin dual feed system so it didn't make holes in the vinyl). Love the pattern - Thanks!

I used to work in a sewing factory. I learned how to do vinyl bags with no pins or clips I think I'd need clips for using the papers between. Just use a Teflon foot. The way we did bags we used indung/bias tape

I put a couple layers of scotch tape on the bottom of my presser foot when I sew vinyl. It works beautifully!

What size needle did you use. I tried this yesterday with 75/11 and have loops every five or six stitches on the Bottom. Going to try again with larger needle but wondering what needle size you recommended?

Great tutorial! Love your channel so much ❤️❤️ Did you know if you cover your vinyl with a cloth ( like a piece of fabric) and run a medium heat iron over it quickly it will stay flat? It s a huge help as most vinyl comes folded or rolled.

Great bag and great tutorial. I have made small zipper pull bags and successfully used vinyl that a duvet cover came in, though it may not be large enough for this project bag.

Love the tissue paper trick. Works better than the Teflon foot. That foot is expensive and doesn't work all that well with vinyl. Thanks Kimberly!!

Ive watched 4 or 5 tutorials on making these -- with and without (Lori's) vinyl. I have By Annie vinyl but it did NOT like my plexiglass sewing machine surround. Yikes! It's amazing to me how many different ways these are constructed. I made the Riley Blake version and I found I liked the zipper insertion. But I'm gonna try Kimberly's next! These are so handy!

This was a really good tutorial...right up to the binding section. The binding is probably the most challenging part. I watched the binding tutorial you referenced, but I thought it would have been better if she had used contrasting thread just for the tutorial. It would have been easier to see what she’s doing. Also, a step by step demo on making the binding itself, I.e., how to join the strips. For those of us who have never quilted, you can’t take each step of the process for granted. Just some thoughts from a novice! Thanks for doing this!
