WOW!! Thanks SO much Liz! I sat entraced through the making of those 2 copper rings....couldn't believe how easy you made it look! I am going to HAVE to give it a try! I think my granddaughter's would just LOVE them. (Once my daughter's see them, I think they will want some too!!) I am in South Australia & I it is only 5.30am here atm. I woke up very early! I have made jewellery before, so I have all the tools. Can I just say, I know it must be difficult for whoever holds the video camera, or whatever you're using, but sometimes I just couldn't see what you were doing at all, as your arm or shoulder was in the way of the ring you were making....& sometimes I lost sight of your work, as it was up too high on the screen etc. Sorry to be negative, but if you look back on your video you'll see what I mean. It's just fabulous to watch apart from that though, & it is great of you to share your talent online too!! I follow you on Facebook too. First found you when I googled "How to make a pillowcase" and loved the one you made that you roll up, with the french seams! Please keep showing us your great ideas Liz as you are SO talented, and I love how you explain every step along the way. Stay safe over there! from Sue in SA xx

@@makingiteasywithliz Ohh! Well I understand then how it would have been difficult to work out how to explain what you wanted etc., ...lol... no worries, I can still work out how you have done these very cute rings! What a great Christmas gift they will be for my Daughter's and my older Granddaughter's too!! I just LOVE your Tutorials Liz...please keep them up!! I found you when I was looking for a way to make a pillowcase to go with my next 2 quilts that I am making for my grandson's 7th birthday, and my granddaughter's 5th birthday. I have been quilting for over 17 years (and have taught other's "Beginner's Quilting" at a Craft Group I started at our local Church too) but I haven't done any sewing, quilting, knitting, embroidery or jewellery making for over 2 years because my health was so bad. I am just beginning to feel like I could start sewing again, YAY!! I live in South Austraia just FYI, and after seeing you use your Serger (which we call an Overlocker) I am considering trading in my Mum's old one, and buying a new one as it would be very handy I think. You also get lessons with it for free! Stay safe over there Liz! Blessings, Sue x

Making It Easy with Liz I agree with all the wonderful comments I've read, so I'll just say, "THANKS". There IS One thing that's 'in need of improvement' though, sorry. Your Volume goes up & down through all Vids, which I've noticed cause I have tinnitus. I've found it's Not a good idea to wear ear-buds To raise volume, as the 'tapping on wire' gets Really Loud, lol. Confident you'll fix the problem, so I'm staying a Faithful Sub. Happy New Year, Prayers & Love for You, Yours, and Everyone, With Love For All, Elaina. Shalom. ❤🇺🇸💯%😉

Making It Easy with Liz I was!! Haha but the silver one came out much nicer I think because I was much more careful with it. I made one for myself too and love it. LOL I know what you mean about buying jewelry. My husband is off the hook there. I too love wire and metal. Beading is the same thing over and over but wire, there's a whole realm of creativity. Thank you for your support. I closed my bead store and now have more time for videos...lots in the works.
@wooptyfrickindoo10 жыл бұрын
Haha! Too funny! Some wire wrap things are very challenging yet rewarding and some things are so easy yet look like they took forever to do. I'm still a beginner at it and I'm 25 and want to learn so much, I grew up in a craft family and love challenging myself with new mediums. I love your spiral ring because it's so gorgeous! I made, no lie, 10. Also, the middle spiral is a great starter for so many patterns and you have the best advice IMO. I now always start at the smallest part of the mandrel then stretch it out, it keeps everything even. If you ever use metal clay make a video! I just heard about the stuff today and I'm saving up for a beginners kit to experiment, it sounds really exciting. I would also love to learn about soldering wire jewelry because sometimes spirals on rings can pop up if you use towels etc. :)
@makingiteasywithliz10 жыл бұрын
Hi Paige, I love your enthusiasm for jewelry making. I was the same way...hungry to learn it all! I dabbled in silver clay, bought all the gadgets, kiln, etc. I did it for a bit but it is very costly and I don't think I will go down that path but I'm sure there are lots of great videos on the subject. I have a silversmith friend that might show some basic soldering that I can film. I'll check with him. If you're just starting out, check out my basic videos on the wire wrapped loop and basic loop, ear wires, etc.(if you haven't already). Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback and your support.

Hi Ms. Liz you're such a great inspiration to me. I bought some copper wire awhile back and I made a ring & it turned a dark color, and i was very disappointed. Is there any salutation to prevent copper wire from turning dark?
@makingiteasywithliz9 жыл бұрын
+Boysie Brown Hi Boysie. Thank you so much for your kind feedback. As for the copper not turning, I'm afraid the only way to stop that is to either seal it with a lacquer sealer, or get some Tarnex or other "dip" style cleaner for silver. You will find it where polish for silverware is sold in the grocery store. A quick dip in that will remove all of the tarnish. I would also store them in a Ziploc bag when not wearing it.

Thank you so much for watching. I do not have a problem with copper turning my skin. I do not bathe our sleep in my jewelry and I think a persons' metabolism has something to do with it too. You could always use a Microcrystalline wax like Renaissance to seal it. Keep copper in a zip bag when not wearing to keep it from darkening more.

Thank you Helena. I mentioned above in the description that it is 18 gauge wire and I believe that is 1mm thick. Have fun! 16g wire makes a nice ring too.

Could i use aluminum craft wire for this project? Thank you for sharing❤
@makingiteasywithliz3 жыл бұрын
Aluminum wire is super soft, dents really easy and won't hold up. Rings take a beating and I truly believe you will get frustrated with aluminum. It's not even good to practice with.

Hi again Liz. How are you? Do you have or plan on making a tutorial of the ring you have on at 0:42? It's really unique

Sharon E. Young Hi Sharon, I am great, how are you? I do have that ring lined up for a video. I will put it at the top of my list. I used a dapping block to make it concave but you can leave the washer as is. Thanks so much for your support.

Hi, loved the video. Can you tell me where you got the ring boxes from?
@makingiteasywithliz5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Linda Lou for watching. Everyone loves the boxes. Those were given to me years ago and came from a jewelry store. You can find them online but are pretty expensive I found. You will have to do a search.

I love all of your tutorials. I love jewelry making just as much a sewing. Have you ever tried using a c-clamp or contractors clamp to hold your ring mandrel in place while working. Just a random thought while watching your video 😂 💕

Thank you Anjell, no I didn't really. I got so used to doing it that way, thanks for the suggestion.

Evaggelia Hatzi Hi Evaggelia, I have the wire for sale and will have it on my website, www.makingiteasywithliz.com which I hope to have up and running in the next few weeks. Are you interested in purchasing it from me? We could make that happen before my site is ready.

LOVE the washer ring that you were wearing at the start of the video. What size wire did you use with that one? Thanks for posting, your videos are very well done and informative.

salemdog100 Thank you so much. That ring was done in 12 gauge sterling silver wire. Did you see my tutorial on the washer ring?

I already watched it, I LOVE it. I have washers here, some are brass which will be easy to distress. I have a dapping block and dapplers (haha) too! Hoping to try this tomorrow morning with some 18 gauge wire... the washers are small, about the size of a dime... Thank you for posting!

Hi, I love your rings Liz. Where can I order the ring boxes you have in this video? Thanks in advance.
@makingiteasywithliz9 жыл бұрын
Felecia Cornelius thank you so much Felecia for watching. Actually, those boxes were given to me and when I looked for them online, they are extremely expensive. If you want to look, try Googling "break apart ring displays".

Wonderful! I picked up a metal ring mandrel not too long ago, and it has a gap across the back. I didn't realize it at the time, and that specific store has a no refunds policy. Dang it. Anyway, where do you get your solid copper wire? Almost all the copper and brass wires I've found were coated! I love the liver of sulfur antiquing process but finding the wire has been the bane of my crafting life. The one place I found it, it seems to be so much more expensive than the coated stuff! Could you point me in a direction? Thanks for your time!

Kitsuchan I have the bare copper wire for sale. My website has come to a standstill (dang it!) and will have it for sale on my site, but until then, I could send it to you. As far as the groove goes on your mandrel, try to put the spiraled top of your ring on the groove and try not to hit it there. You will have to move the ring around the mandrel. The groove is helpful when you add a bead to your ring.
