I’ve just noticed you use “Test” option in the “SubGhz” menu. I have Xtreme firmware installed, and a DIY CC1101 module that is working (tested several times) but the option “Test” doesn’t appear on my Flipper Zero. Are you using Xtreme as well??? This is what appears on the menu: Read ReadRAW Saved Add Manually Frequency Analyzer Radio Settings. On “Radio Settings” “External” is chosen. Any help willing be appreciated.

Please do the NRF24. I've made a ton of those and I'm very curious to see where I can improve my technique. If you're feeling extra generous, I'd love to see you do some combo boards. Nice work! But if the goal is only to allow the connection of an external antenna, I wonder if it would be possible to attach an antenna jack to the original Flipper and connect it to the internal CC1101. My problem is that the receive range on the 70 cm band is limited to a few MHz in the ISM band, while the CC1101 does support much more. Probably a FW issue. I got my Flipper just a few days ago, so maybe I need to experiment more and try alternative SW.

@rayj1988
@rayj1988 Жыл бұрын
Yes for the CC1101 if you are using GPIO pin 1 as with 5v you will burn out the CC1101 chip. You can run it off GPIO pin 9 for 3.3v, then you won't need the 5v converter. But it would be a slightly longer but the same principle. I used to make it using the 3.3v pin but changed it as some people have issues with the 3.3v pin as the SD card is also powered off it and to also to make the attachment as small as possible.

What a great, in depth and clear tutorial, but I have two questions! 1. I notice most CC1101 modules have a "limited" frequency range, effectively in line with either the USA or European standards. Since the Flipper Zero can output signals for both regions' respective bands; does the external module also have to mirror that? In that case, if I wanted to maitain the "all regions" capability of the Flipper Zero through that external module, would I have to build two of these, or is one enough to cover both? 2. I also watched your tutorial about the NRF24 module - equally as excellent as this one btw; would the same antenna work for both modules, or would I need two distinct ones - on for sub-GHz and one for 2.4GHz?

Powered up Flipper enabled 5v on GPIO led lights enabled Radio and it worked tried spectrum analyzer all seemed good. switched it off and tried again now the led lights until I select subGhz then it goes out every time I cant work out what's wrong anyone got any ideas?
@rayj1988
@rayj1988 8 ай бұрын
The Spectrum Analyzer app won't really be a good indicator if it's working as it could be using the internal CC1101 and the light would be on due to being turned on from GPIO settings. So the fact that when you try go into subghz and the light turns off indicates there is some issue with wiring or module, it is not working. I would check the wiring to make sure they are going to the correct pins using a multimeter and also check no shorts between pins. Are you using spacers for the board? If not, make sure the 3.3v converter is not touching the cc1101 module as it could short on that. Try slide a piece of electrical tape or paper on top of the 3.3v converter just in case.

@@user-uk3gc2dk3h oohhh... That may explain the weird and constant 415.98Mhz noise I'm getting... It must be from the internal electronics of the flipper coming up from the 3v line. Thanks!

What do you need the 3.3v converter for? I don't see it on the wiring diagram
@rayj1988
@rayj1988 4 ай бұрын
It uses a 3.3v converter to help reduce the footprint as it uses 5v pin and also mitigates issues. Some people have had running attachments off the 3.3v GPIO pin as it is also shared with the SD card.

How do you get the test option, I have the latest xtreme version and there is no test function. Did you add that yourself ?

The newer version doesn't have the test function. For some reason, they got rid of it. I just flashed back to the older version.

You don't need it but you will want to use the 3.3v pin and not 5v as the CC1101 module will burn out.

Thank you very much so I occupy the one that is in 3v and will it work the same?
@rayj1988
@rayj1988 3 ай бұрын
Yes it will work fine. The reason I designed to use 3.3v converter and use 5v is to reduce footprint and mitigate issues that can be caused by using 3.3v as it is shared with the sdcard.
