This formula was in my perfumery bucket list and I did it recently. Some of the mats I had to substitute and I also dealt the massive amount of animals notes a bit down. Castoreum and Birch Tar I halved. Therefore I've put (accidentally) an overdose of Peru Balm ( like 10 times more than suggested 😂). However, the result has many elements of real out (at least the one I've used to compare with). The sweetness (certainly with an overdose of Peru Balm. Also the animals and smoky aspects, which I find just fine how they are with half the doses of the respective mats. I definitely will do the try on the formula as it is. But so far, one of the best oud replacer formulas I've seen so far. Some additions I always like in my old formulas are Cypriol for the sweetness, some Safralein or Safranal for a leathery touch and some Cashmeran for the high pitched tickly effect.

Does someone know a good substitute for Guaiacwood?
@RyanParfums12 күн бұрын
Try amyris wood. It's less smokey, but it has a similar vibe, and can serve in a similar function.
@adryancavar751512 күн бұрын
@RyanParfums thank you for the reply! Has guaiacwood a similar strength? I had a predilution of amyris EO at 10% but I went up to 20% recently cuz it felt quite weak to me
@RyanParfums12 күн бұрын
@ they are similar to me. They are a soft woody filler, the difference being that guiaic has a Smokey facet.

But peru balsam is totally restricted 🤔 isn’t it?
@RyanParfums19 күн бұрын
Peru balsam does contain quite a few skin-sensitizing molecules.

Is this formula cheaper than the same amount of real cambodian oud? Great content as always.
@RyanParfums22 күн бұрын
Much much much cheaper. But, let’s wait until it matures before we judge the quality of the base 🤓

I attempted this without peru balsam,not so good result, i would say its 5 out of 10
