I've never tried the Treespear before. It has pretty high stat requirements for how early it can be obtained. However, it does set you up perfectly to wield the Godslayer's Greatsword later on in the playthrough. The stat requirements are aligned so well.

I've been grabbing Wild Strikes and putting it on the Morningstar, and allocating my flasks to restore FP, then holding L2 to spam the ash of war instead of repeatedly using regular attacks - it seems to make the dragon farm so much faster

I struggled with Erdtree Avatar but I cheesed the guy. If you also struggle this is how I did it: Buy fireball from the guy at the roundtable. Have about 2-3 mana flasks. Now all you have to do to go around the big tree and throwing fireballs at the boss. You don't even need to charge game (if you charge them there is high risk that you get hit). Just throw oe fireball, make more distance between you and the boss, and throw it again going around the tree.

Guys before you do the dragon glitch.. The bridge right next to Renni rise there’s a black knight on horseback that spawns at night you can glitch him to fall off the bridge and get another 50k runs

I would like to add that using basically any high phys damage weapon swapped to Sacred for faith scaling, either a broadsword or a greatsword, pushes this build to the same affect. Also, while heading through weeping peninsula in southern Leyndell, keep aye out for a black Knights Cavalry mini boss encounter. He drops an ash of war called Barricade Shield which costs hardly any FP, and gives you enormous blocking power with your shield enabling you to go face to face tanking huge monsters & bosses without losing so much Stamina and being staggered. If you use a good weapon like the broadsword which confessor starts with, the counter attack is fast and deals great stance damage. Then you can just face tank /block the boss and retaliate with a counter until it becomes vulnerable to a crit. There's a lot of ways you can get an OP start on a confessor

Exactly what i was looking for. Maybe to add is before reaching the Dragonborrow minor Erdtree you can head left after the bridge and collect some extra runes at a graveyard as well as jumping down to Lenne's Rise and snatch a memory stone. Overall great guide :)

Experinced player here, i really liked your guide but the 2 things id point out is also buying flame sling to quickly deal with the tree and marget, and insted of giving the book to corin, you should give it to turtle pope right next to where u get the prayer book. A tip for killing Greyoll more efficiently; grab the hook claws from Stormveil castle, craft some bleed grease then go to town on her. It’s possibly the most efficient way to kill her in the early game, better than the flail, morning star, uchi etc. I don’t often kill Greyoll these days as it’s not really worth the time but I do the kukri cheese for the Night’s Cavalry for some early runes which is nice. I also like killing the Putrid Avatar and the Dragonbarrow BBH when I get a little stronger but the latter boss is quite difficult if you don’t have the moveset memorized.

A few pointers for the tree, dont use summon. Just focus on it and learn the patterns without distractions, use catch flame or go buy the foreball at the round table, it does alot more dmg than simply hiting it with you spear or morning star.

Only change I would make, is I would probably use Catch Flame instead of the spear for the erdtree in Liurnia. Super weak to fire dmg and you start with Catch Flame on Prophet Class, and for the Confessor class I would just buy it from Corhyn at Roundtable. Both starting classes have seals. If you want more hp flasks cause you feel uncomfortable with the fight, just use catch flame until you run out of fp and then use the spear to finish it. Love the rest tho!

Something I did to make dealing with the Erdtree Avatar easier was heading up to Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel and defeating the boss so that I could purchase smithing stones from the twin finger maidens and upgrade the tree spear to +6 beforehand. Hope this helps!

fire is really strong against the tree if anyone's struggling. you can use catch fire or the fireball from Corrin in the round table and just spam that at the tree while dancing around its attacks

I used this build for a while, then made a bleed build that was good but a bit boring and now I use an int based Sword of Night and Flame build that is a little hard to play but very satisfying once you get it to work. Loved the video. It is concise and a great idea to use the Treespear. I am starting a second playthrough (not NG+) and was thinking to do a Faith/Str build as my first playthrough was a pure mage with Int. I am planning on doing a sort of Paladin with a shield and weapon and incantations for buffs, but I am a little confused on which weapon to use. In your opinion, is the Treespear a weapon that can be used even in the late game? Also, any tips on stat allocation?

Hey man thanks for the comment. So the Treespear can be used late game HOWEVER the holy damage is really going to be tough in late boss fights. As far as stat allocation for late game in this build. I would rock like 80 Faith 40 strength if you can swing it. It would allow your incantations to hit super hard as well as do decent physical damage if you needed to.

Personally to get op early assuming your OK using glitches such as the dragon... I would decide your weapon and wrong warp to Crumbling Farum Azula and pick up the somber ancient stone/armor set & talisman... I did this on my very first playthrough unfortunately the godskin duo stand in your way but with determination you can get through them and the added benefit of this if you manage to take them out early you'll be confident you can take down anything in your path... If you give up easily I wouldnt recommend this route or you'll just stop playing lol.

I think get Radagon soarseal from fort faroth to wield Uchi + sacred blade ash or flaming strike = easy and effective early faith build. Then proceed to pump vigor to 60 and then faith and rush to Volcano manor to snag the erdtree seal. Get the Radagon icon for cast speed next. Then eventually acquire the Blasphemous blade and later get the Golden order greatsword. You’re done. EZ game ez life.

Nice guide, really like that you mentioned the dragon cheese because it's just a nice I'm going to farm so might as well make it faster method for early game rather then grinding away for hours somewhere else. I mean the idea is to be OP early. Interesting weapon choice for early game but I don't hate it. Might use this when the DLC drops for a second fresh playthrough, doing the DLC on my 150RL Faith Build but want to try a fresh run at a lower level.

My favorite class is a confessor although I play him dex faith built I choose a different route uchigatana with sacred blade ash of war or my personal favorite ash of war sword dance, a scabmvenger blade as for my first incantation I pick darkness from brother Corry in round tablehold, as for points I go vigor, Endurance, mind hen dex faith and little strength and if I see fit a little arcane. Then my first kill is always first the black knight who gives ash of war Baricade shield (helps with stamina with parry and block) although for more agro build anyone for his primary weapon of choice might use the quick step ash of war OR if he wants to mean busined the bloodhound step. Also always and I mean always as a confessor SLAIN THE GRIFTED SCION thank me later for what you get early game

The timing is critical though, it saves a few seconds and that adds up when farming using items such as the Gold pickled fowl foot.

I had put strength in before using the moringstar in to defeat a boss and miscalculated the dragon farming so I didn't use the gold pickled fowl foot(under fear I would run out of time so I delayed it) and then didn't react fast enough to do the glitch after 😭😭

I tried this build and lost over a hundred thousand runes multiple timed this is a MAJOR ISSUE! Why have soo much runes in storage when it's WAY more than likely that you WILL lose them all. I understand this is a generalized issue that always comes with all Souls-like games. But if you are planning on using them for something specific then use them. Not everyone is capable of getting back to their dropped runes every time.

I am pretty sure the only time I tell you to go anywhere with that many runes is when you travel from the dragon to the site of grace right next to him. How are u losing so much ?

Thank you for the tutorial! But what I don't understand is where to put the points after we spend a few on the main stats for the weapon. I kinda dont want to run with 50K runes in me through the map. Thanks!

So if you want more physical damage use those points in strength. If you want more incantation damage put them into faith :)

You should have gone to the dragon first I believe before you get to the tunnels

@@pastorgainzgames damn I killed the damn dragon by mistake, did not react fast enough. I got the runes so I was able to get the str/ dex/ faith to where you said and jumped from level 10 to 27 at least. Should I continue on now or go back to the tunnels?

The tree has proven to be a very formidable foe! I think I finally figured it out. I used golden runes to buy fire sling from the round table hold. I just keep kiting him around the tree and hitting him with that every opportunity I get! I got him down to 30% life. Still trying!

Can anyone help a new player out? I just finished most the steps of the video (stuck on the minor erdtree) and my attacks just feel SOOOO slow with the tree spear. Am I doing something wrong or is it just something you get used to or like a play style preference? I’ve played a few other classes and stuff and I just feel so slow that I can’t even get my attack in before the next attack cycle starts.

The tree spear can be a little slow, however if you time the attacks of the tree and your rolls then you should be good. the rolling attack with the treespear isn't terrible so try and hit him right after you roll and doge:)

did you try torrent? fire spells or jars? if you are unsure about the move set try to focus on one move that you feel you can get an attack in safely you will get better and once you know that move others will become more clear

Well done, i didn’t do anything different to get higher numbers. For these videos i started a new char and then hit record as I did stuff. For the tree it comes down to memorizing the moveset. I think cause over beaten the game 22 times I just assume people know the moves 😱😱😱

The damage against Margit sucks balls.. how's that OP? That's the amount of damage I'd expect to deal when I start a new character and rush straight to Margit. It's a decent setup for a faith build, but this is faaar away from being overpowered - even for the early game Don't get me wrong, I don't mind videos like this where you show a decent setup for each build path. But I'd assume that most people who look for OP early builds aren't exactly looking for builds like this
