I just stumbled upon your video. I really appreciate the education. I would like very much to begin making my watch straps and you are an inspiration. Thank you again.

Hi! nice job! Why did you apply glue under the stainless steel pins to the leather? Even when the pins are not "glueble" the owner will have to be careful not to press the strap if he removes those pins to avoid the leather to be glued... doesn't work that way? Thanks. Regards!
@StrapaWatch Жыл бұрын
I never apply glue to the pins, only the leather. I then use a Regad machine with a special pointed tool that burns the glue away and apply Tokenole inside where the pins are set to help with longevity. There are a lost of processes that I don't always showcase on these episodes... Thanks, MK

Great show Michael! Quick question I have a Breitling with a leather strap with the standard buckle 22/20 size. Any suggestions on where to get an after market deployment clasp? Breitling charges an arm and leg for theres.. Thanks
@StrapaWatch4 жыл бұрын
Hi Pat, Look on Etsy. I’ve seen some aftermarket Breitling Clasps on there before that are very reasonable. They have the logo and look to be of pretty good quality. You’re always paying the premium for the brand name, which many times is actually not much better than an aftermarket one. MK

How do you do the straight lines along the edge? Is that a groove cutter or just creased with a plastic tool? Was trying to find that part in the video but looks like it was left out
@StrapaWatch4 жыл бұрын
I use Regad creaser and I did film it, but maybe I put some B-Roll over it. I’ll have to rewatch the episode.... Thanks Walter! MK

Hi again Walter, My plane is sitting on hold on the tarmac here in Washington, DC for some mechanical issue, so I had time to review the show again. I did showcase my Regad at the 7:39 mark, if you’d like to go back and watch that step. MK

So sorry to hear about the shoes! Puppies are awesome but it sure is nice when they grow out of the chewing. Love the strap. All of your straps are beautiful. Just put the alligator strap that you made on my new Seiko. Makes it really pop.

@@StrapaWatch Question.. since you told me about the Tokonole I've used the clear only. I just noticed that the brown appears to lightly dye the leather correct?
