I definitely do the same thing with projecting the content for the anchor and then tracing, however I like to trace lightly in pencil so I can "draw" the anchor in front of my class as I teach the content. Also, if using the same chart year after year, laminate after pencil tracing so you can do the making of it in front of the class every time.

Lol. I am a lefty too.....SO TRUE about the writing. My writing in a line would get me accused of writing under the influence. I even turn my paper to the side to not drag my hand through it....can’t exactly do that with a white board 🤦‍♀️

I do the same thing. Sometimes I find one on pinterest and copy it into a word doc then trace it. I also laminate them so I can use year after year.

left handed problems: Can't write in a straight line, gets pencil all down the side of your hand, spiral notebooks, three ring binders.

This was really helpful. I’m a left handed too. Do you have a favourite whiteboard marker to help you write neatly on the whiteboard. I find writing neatly on whiteboards is one of my biggest challenges 😂

I LOVE Anchors Charts! The way how I like to make mine, also a great hacks if you runs out of anchor charts paper, is I like to put two notebook papers together and tape them and I also like to have them landscape! I’m now a anchor chart fan! 😊 ❤️Aaron

Love using PowerPoint to create items for the classroom. I would never have thought to use it as a guide for anchor charts!!! LOVE THIS IDEA and I'm definitely using this in the future. Thank you!

Thank you for the idea! I spent hours trying to freehand, never once did it cross my mind to use the projector to trace! I’ll likely premake all of them for the year on paper that size and laminate them and just use painters tape or washi tape to stick them up

What kind of marker do you use so it doesn't bleed through onto the smartboard? I remember I had a sub in fifth grade who accidentally used a dry erase board on the smart board, and that was a hot messs!

Did you do student lead conferences? I would love to know how you did them if so! I have conferences in two weeks and I LOVE the idea of student lead conferences, but I'm not quite sure where the start.

Don’t do them they’re terrible awkward unless you’re the perfect student. Don’t even do parent teacher conferences just call the parents or email them parent teacher conferences are a waste of time unless the parent arranges them

This is a poster,not an anchor chart. Anchor charts are created with the students to anchor their learning to something meaningful that they had input in.

Quick question: If I download a font bundle from TPT, where can I use these fonts/how do I find them in my computer? I have a Mac and typically use google sheets but can also use powerpoint!

You are projecting this onto a whiteboard, correct? If I put a paper on my smartboard and try to write on it, it goes crazy...I don't think this will work fo rme.

Hi thank you for this video. I never thought of using PowerPoint to create anchor charts and I really appreciate the idea. Also I noticed that you have two metal cups on your desk for supplies. Did you get them at IKEA because I have very similar ones that I got at IKEA as well for like a dollar each. I can’t wait to see videos of your new classroom. I am in a similar situation I am switching schools and grade levels as well.

Check out number rocks KZbin channel or website. They have fantastic songs about third grade mathematical concepts. My students love the quadrilateral song on there!
