I can't get it to work in AE. Every time I import the AI file (selecting Import Composition Retain Layer Sizes) it's just one layer showing the full image of the map and I cannot edit each piece. In Illustrator I am selecting the freeways and click Release to Layers (Sequence) and then drag them above. Can anyone help?

What story does this tell? I'm a Cartographer and while this looks good, it doesn't effectively tell the story the data portrays.
