Yes. All this man's stuff is real. Just simple physics. Batteries are simple and not complex. For demonstrating electrical for generation for children I would recommend the toy, 'motors and generators' by thames and cosmos. Its overpriced but still worth the money. Even nuclear power stations use the same method.
