As a fellow introvert, I totally know what you mean. But if you have enough lights turned on so that your space bright enough, you can do this indoors! That's what I did in this video :) I hope you're able to make it work!

@@NexusAcademy Wait... so Artificial Lights work??
@NexusAcademy4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, as long as they're very bright!! Also I would recommend using lights with filament bulbs instead of LED lights. LEDs sometimes produce a kind of flickering effect on camera that can be a bit distracting.

Hi, thanks for watching and subscribing! I actually don't have an iPhone myself, but I don't think the native iPhone camera app gives you manual control over video recording settings (unfortunately). So I believe you have two options: 1) As I say at around 4:58, you can film in a very bright place or outside on a bright day so your iPhone's native camera app is forced to switch to a high shutter speed 2) You could download a third-party camera app that lets you control your shutter speed. I found this guide online with some recommendations: ios.gadgethacks.com/how-to/best-video-recording-apps-for-your-iphone-0195938/#jump-1filmicpromanualvideocamera Hope this helps. Thanks for the question!!

Just shoot your videos outside in very bright light with any phone
@TheJoysofBoatOwnership10 ай бұрын
Thanks...I was thinking it was all about high shutter speeds. I hate the effect so I will make sure to shoot at a 1/30 sec and use ND filters if necessary.

If you put that tune on the Oscilloscope, will it display the same waves?
@NexusAcademy3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I think the visual would look very similar on an oscilloscope. And in fact, you might even be able to see more complex compound waveforms (rather than just a simple sine wave pattern) because the oscilloscope would be graphing signals from multiple strings at the same time.

Hey Rohan! I want to shoot indoors but my lights are LEDs and a lot of flickering effect is produced making it impossible to record. I heard adjusting the frame rate might help but I don't know how. I want to record indoors (I'm an introvert) and with LED lights (no other lights available). Can you guide me with some tips please? Is it possible to pull this off?
@NexusAcademy3 жыл бұрын
Hey, great question! LED bulbs operate by cycling between on and off extremely fast (so fast that we can't detect it with our eyes). But depending on your camera settings, you can see a bit of this flickering on video. So you just have to adjust the frame rate and shutter speed to sync with the on/off cycling of the LEDs. Here's an article that does a really good job at explaining the details: ledlightinginfo.com/why-do-led-lights-flicker-on-video Let me know if you're able to get it to work... Good luck :)

Hi Daniel, thank you for watching :) I saw some of your videos, and they're outstanding!! By the way, if you own a smartphone, there are some awesome third-party apps that let you control your settings manually. For Android phones, there's an app called Open Camera that I personally use. I don't have an iPhone, but I found this website for another commenter that recommends a few options: ios.gadgethacks.com/how-to/best-video-recording-apps-for-your-iphone-0195938/#jump-1filmicpromanualvideocamera Thanks for the comment, and keep up the great work!

@@NexusAcademy Cool - thanks. I do have an iPhone, but it's the 5 - from WAY back. I've been using a GoPro Hero3 and it doesn't give many options and was even thinking about upgrading to one of the ones where I could change the shutter speed but I'm not sure how much of an improvement it would be. I have a really nice Sony RC-100 & that I'd like to fasten inside somehow but haven't gotten around to it. I'm a procrastinator. But I'll check out the link for sure - thanks.

@@NexusAcademy recording in bright light
@NexusAcademy3 жыл бұрын
Ok, I see. In that case, the problem might be that the lights aren't bright enough. You need your shutter speed to be not just fast, but *_really_* fast to capture the wiggling effect. Accordingly, your lighting needs to be *_really_* bright. If you don't have a light source that's strong enough, you can try putting a bunch of them together or filming outside on a sunny day. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!
