Thank you for sharing this great video. Your short video is loaded with information. I have sawed a few frames out with my bandsaw when I needed frames in a jam. After watching this I will never buy a frame again. Push sticks and two sided push blocks..awesome teacher!

This has to be one of the best way to make the side bar. No router or bandsaw 👍

I realize there's a lot of give and take and personal preference in any project. But, the "prescribed" height of the side bars in every drawing I've looked at is 9-1/8" while yours is 9-3/16". Any time I vary from the drawings, someone reminds me that bee space requires the dimensions to be spot on. I also notice you make your top dado 1/2" deep rather than the usual 7/16". Will you please explain these changes? Thank you.

9 1/8 is for 9 9/16 boxes... 9 3/16 is for 9 5/8 boxes... Look at chart on Wikipedia Beespace. I make the dado to match the top bars that I make... hope this helps.

I wish I watched this video before I tried making these unsuccessfully.

Using the method in this video I successfully completed 32 frames in even less time than I expected. Looks like I might have to wait until next year to afford bees unfortunately 😕
