How to make biodegradable 'plastic' from cactus juice - BBC World Service, podcast

This Mexican researcher has discovered a way to turn cactus leaves into a material with similar properties to plastic. It works like plastic but it's made from cactus and fish can eat it. Crucially, she says it's not toxic and is biodegradable.
