Awesome tank! It's crazy how much better some above-water plants make aquariums look. I think you should try a Thailand biotope some time, maybe one for a wild smaragdina betta. Maybe a Thai rice paddy? Those aren't done often and I think it'd lool gorgeous. Ive been studying aquatic Thai species (plants and animals) for a while so I can give you suggestions to spare you the research lol, should you decide to try it out.

Beutiful set up. Do you do anything to prevent white calcium buildup just directly above the water level? I want to make a similar set up but the calcium deposit is really annoying. Thanks!

Am wondering if you have done any outside paludarium? I think it is such a neat idea and was thinking about how cool it would be at our front door. I am in the Pacific NW and I have seen fern tables used in shady sides of homes. Incorporating the shady NW loving undergrowth plants, mosses and ferns that thrive in our forests with some water to make a entry way display is something I have not seen before. Any ideas of other folks to watch who might have experience with outside work? Love your videos!
@swamptank75318 ай бұрын
Doing a similar work outside is a super neat idea, sadly I have pretty strong winters where I live so seeing up something only for a few months is kinda pushing me away from this, maybe from some ever green plants in the future hmmm

Exactly what I was looking for : simple, beautiful and very interesting ! The roots, logs and sticks seem to have bark and a little mud... you put them in the tank directly from nature? No washing, soaking? Did you ever use dead/dried ivy please? Can't find anywhere if it is poisonous for fishes.
@swamptank75313 жыл бұрын
Yes i use all kind of wood without any preparations beside making sure it is bone dry 😊 but boiling Will make youre wood soak faster

@@swamptank7531 thank you 😁 It makes sense as no one wash the logs before they fall into the rivers around the world ! I forgot to ask about the stones you are using... do you pick them yourself too... and do you matter about limestone ? Please make more tutorials with these simple methods 👍

@@justemoi3458 Yes i pick them up myself in rivers but you need to keep in mind that some Stones can Alter youre water parameters. This is important if you are planing On keeping soft water fishes for example. Some rocks can easly make soft water go hard. I am finaly getting better computer this week, so more tuts coming 😊

how often in a day you sprayed the plants with fertlizer/water?
@swamptank75318 ай бұрын
Not a single time actually , the air around the tank was humid from evaporation , the ferns spreaded their roots into the water to suck the nutriens . I have never had more lush ferns in a pot than in this tank and i tried mamy times 😅

Hey man great setup really. Just had a question on what type of wood you were using because sometimes i fiind really nice roots but i'm scared they could be from a tree that may not be safe for the fish. What wood is safe?
