How to Make Bookmarks with Cricut. Print these 6 Free Bookmark designs, Laminate, & Cut with Cricut.

Learn how to make Bookmarks with Cardstock, and the Print then Cut feature on your Cricut. After printing your free designs with an inkjet printer, I will show you how to laminate your bookmarks with a thermal laminating machine and cut them with a Cricut Explore Air 2.
These bookmarks can be made with any of the Cricut machines with the Print then cut feature. Unfortunately, the Cricut Joy would not be compatible with this Cricut tutorial.

Glad I found your video. Laminating before cutting makes sense especially when you have a shaped bookmark. Also sending through laminator 3 times is a good tip as well.

I'm not sure how many times 1 sheet of cardstock would need, but I wanted to be sure they sealed completely since I would be cutting them with my Cricut. I hope that helps. I have 65lb cardstock, would you suggest passing through 3 times as well, or would 2 passes through the lamination process be enough?

I have always done 3 passes. You can try to do 2. I'm honestly not sure if it would make a difference. ☺

Do you know how can I do double side print? On Cricut

I would imagine the best way is to make your 2nd image the exact same size and print that one as well. Then lay them together (maybe glue them) and then laminate them? I have not tried it. Sorry.

What program did you use to line up your bookmarks? I have designed bookmarks Affinity Photo would this program work? OR do I need the Cricut design program?

Sorry, When I create a file on in Affinity Photo which is like Adobe Photoshop, I save it as a jpeg, or png or pdf etc. In order for the Cricut to be able to cut it do I need to save it as an SVG or will it take JPEG? I am interested in purchasing a Cricut but don’t know much about how to operate it. If was hoping you had a video on how to set up the file on your computer and how to save it so that the cricut recognize the registration marks. Thanks. L.

@lt6502 Cricut will recognize those files. You would be able to use them as printable images- so you would use them like I show in the tutorial. As a print then cut design. 😊 The SVG files are layered cut files - those are cuttable with products like vinyl and cardstock.

Doesn't the lamination peel off since there is no clear border around it? I've never seen lamination cut flush to the design before.

@@ladyer1972 I've had problems with a few of mine peeling up after cutting, I just run the individual bookmarks through the hot laminator again (not using another pouch).

My machine won’t read the registration marks after I laminate my sheet

I'm sorry you're having problems. I have heard that others use masking tape to cover the registration marks. Then use a black marker to mark the lines so your Cricut can read them.
