So, I used to cosplay a bit 5 years ago and I loved it and sewing so very much. But life and college got in the way and I had a VERY hard time getting back to it until recently. Following your tutorial, I just completed my first project in FIVE YEARS. This has given me new confidence in getting back into this craft and has made me so happy. Just the way I felt years ago. Thank you so much for posting this very helpful and super easy tutorial. I credit a HUGE part of my gained confidence to YOU. Thanks again 🖤 Also.... DAMN THIS COVERS TURNED OUT G O O D. Love this tutorial. So helpful! My granny was involved with amateur musical theatre throughout her life. She used this technique a lot for plays she was in, but probably more for ankle boots for old fashioned period costumes. She would sometimes use stretchy socks over shoes (cut out a bit for the heel to pop through), if you want something in a hurry and / or don't have sewing skills. You can sew on buttons, or laces, or zips, or any other embellishments to make the shoe look a bit more realistic. I have used knee high stretchy white socks for a white knee high boot effect. Obviously making your own from scratch opens up so many more possibilities and looks fabulous.

That is absolutely and option however, it will require different patterning and you will need to ensure you use the correct glue because it will not be a secure seam like this version

Such a good, clear tutorial! For fabric choice, I can't find the colour I need in plain lycra, but there's something pretty close in a cotton lycra (95% cotton, 5% lycra), or rayon lycra (95% rayon, 5% lycra). Do you think one of these would work? There's also a nylon lycra (80% nylon, 20% lycra), but it's more expensive and I'm trying to keep costs down. Thank you so so much for the video, I'm new to this whole cosplaying thing so I need all the help I can get!

Hi, really enjoyed your video! I have a question. What fabric do you recommend for doing this? I thought of using lycra but I don't know where to get it cause fabric stores I know of don't sell it in bright colors. Ideally I want something that smoothes everything underneath (thick) but also stretchy. I like what you used for the pink ones in this video. Thanks

Hi, there is a very small chance you will see this or Even reply but I have some questions 1: is it possible to make these into full tights that includes the hips and waist? 2: is there a tutorial for hand stitching them? I don't have access to a sewing machine and I have trouble learning how to use things that are new to me.
@KirileeCosplay8 ай бұрын
You can always extend up the pattern to go over the hips and waist. As for hand stitching, I would not recommend it. Reason being, hand stitching is not as strong (especially when you do a zigzag stitch which you need for the stretch). It might hold for a single wear but the thread will stay with the tension as it is a single thread type sewing
