When I got back in the hobby I set up a heavily planted Walstad Bowl with 2 White Cloud minnows. Before I knew it, snails started popping up out of nowhere (obviously hitchhikers) and the minnows gave me multiple generations. I moved them to a bigger tank and they actually stopped breeding. So fish Bowl can work with the right fish(guppies, White clouds, some say Mollies and I even heard Cory catfish.)

It's too small for that many fish and impractical . . . A few rice fish would have been a better option. Fish need room to swim properly know because I made the same mistakes as you at one time but losing fish is not the idea of the hobby . . . Is it?
