The yellow colour depends on the milk which further depends on the kind of feed the cow had. If the cow was fed the fodder i.e. the dried straw, the butter will turn out to be white. If the cow fed on fresh green grass, the butter would be naturally yellow. In Punjab, Haryana, the natural butter that you get in village shops is white on colour. I’m amazed that some people are actually surprise that you can make butter from malai 😆

I have tried this method three times but could not make butter. I have used red cow milk but as soon as the skimmed milk is whipped, it becomes milk again. The procedure is similar. Now what to do?

Add some salt to the collected malai and keep stirring till u see milk like water . Now throw away that water, and if you dont like salted butter wash it 2-3 times with plane cold-water, salty taste will go away
