Great job as usual, Steve. Yeah the akorn is so efficient that it actually runs better in conditions like this than in the heat of the summer because the bigger fire is more stable. Man, that pork looks great (just got there in the video. lol) Thanks for the video, man, I learned a lot from this one.

Baby Back Maniac thanks man, and yeah being this cold was actually the best I’ve ever had the akorn behave at that 230 temp. My phone on the other hand...not so much :)

Thats a flavor profile i need to try
@Cookoutcoach6 жыл бұрын
No Hippie BBQ & Cooking it was a good one, I kept it a little lighter because my wife isn’t a fan of things being real spicy but if you wanted to kick it up s notch I’d go 1 to 1 pork rub to Cajun seasoning.

Roundhouse Ranch BBQ thanks man, it sure tastes good. But maybe that’s just because of the struggle to get it with those negative temps...who knows :)

I hear ya, man... It's 13° right now... That's really cool for North Texas!

Great video. You're a better man than I. Best I've done was three hot dogs on the grill in 32 degree weather.
@Cookoutcoach6 жыл бұрын
lawdog57304 thanks man. I worked with a mechanic once that told me if your gonna be dumb you better be tough, so maybe I’m just too dumb to know when to quit while the smart guys left the hot dogs on the grill when it hit freezing lol. Have a good one.

Hey Steve this pork butt looked great if the wife don't like the fat trim it. Since you injected it it would stay moist. But it looked great brother might have to do this myself! Great video!

How did you do that accent wall? Looks nice
@Cookoutcoach6 жыл бұрын
Chyron Green lol well I actually bought the house with that accent but it’s just airstone, a product you can get at Lowe’s put on top of drywall pretty easy to apply but you will need access to a tile saw.
@surfr4life9195 жыл бұрын
good lookin cook brother. only criticism is if you're gonna remove all that delicious bark/fat then just trim the fat before hand and get all your good rub on the meat so you have all that flavor in your shredded pork. pineapple is a solid call. not traditional but who cares. pork and pineapple are meant to be together
@Cookoutcoach5 жыл бұрын
Hey bud thanks for watchin. So with what I know now through competition, I still pull the fat cap off at the end but I make sure to get the layer of “bacon”....not really bacon....in between the two layers of fat that make up the fat cap. It’s the most delicious pieces of pulled pork you’ll find on the butt 👍
