@@huntergatherer9084 decarboxilate basically means activated weed, the THC is activated by heat so they ground the flower then put it in an oven on a very low temp maybe 225° for 20 or so minutes. Now the thc is activated and fully released potency.

I just made a cannabis oil with sunflower lecithin using a bunch of weed too. The oil doesn't really have a smell to it until I decided to try it in soda, I put a couple drops of oil and poured the soda and it mixed perfectly considering it's oil and water. The soda smelled dank like kush and I'm pretty lit.

Don't the oil and syrup separate? And, thc doesn't bond to water, so why put the VG in at the end? Surely you're better off putting the bud in the oil, then emulsifying the oil into the sugar syrup...

Glycerin is not a lipid (fat). It's a small molecule that looks like water. It's considered a polyol. Where did you get your false info about THC binding to glycerin from?

THC does bind to glycerin but you're right, it's not a fat. It is absolutely a polyol like you said. THC binds to two things, alcohol and fat and since glycerin is a sugar alcohol it's the binding agent. Tinctures (mostly) use alcohol. Almost all other home done extractions are binding it to fat ( oil/butter)...seems like just confusion on the poster's part... but an understandable mistake.

You can change the simple syrup ratio so instead of 1:1 you can do 2:1 or whatever you prefer. Agave and honey could also be an option.

9 months late but better than never, it depends on the potency of the flower, say that its 20% thc, that means there is 200mg of thc per gram of flower that can potentially be extracted, so at 2 ounce working on the same hypothetical THC percentages, you would have 11200mg

Honestly was a really big batch as well my buddy and I split it and it was more than enough, I have done a small ratio before like 2 cups water 2 cups sugar and I used about a 1/2oz of shake. While the syrup is cool and gets you stoned I only like using shake and trim and use the rest more efficiently! Hoped this helped let me know if you end up making it!
