I looked this up just to see how others make them. I so miss eating these from when my mother made them when I was growing up. We would mash the avacados up into guacamole and spread it on one side of the bun and only have refried beans on the other side of the sandwich and we would add in a slice of grilled ham between all the layers. Sooooo good!! To me, a real good torta has to have a slice of hot grilled ham, melted, cheese, refried beans, lettuce and guacamole.
