Made this yesterday when I was sick, followed the recipe exactly and it came out perfect. Didnt use white pepper or anything like the other comments, didnt mash any potatoes, literally just followed this and it was so so so good.

Just one suggestion. This recipe is pretty much spot on. But before you add your chicken back to the pot...use a masher to mash up those potatoes and then give it a good stir. This will give it the right texture and help incorporate the statches from the potatoes. Also allow to cool and then bring back to temperature so all the flavors has time to blend.

I'm impressed ! I made this last night but I didn't have the patience and time to skim off the fat so I cooled the pot down in cold water and put it in the frig overnight..This am I took the layer of fat off the top and BINGO!!! no more grease!.. i am reheating it now and this will be a late breakfast here with some bread HA HA..it smells delicious and it has a sweetness from all the vegetables I'm guessing.. First time I made soup with a soup base and or stock.. You don't need it !!! just the covering of water turns luscious! I MADE 1/2 of this recipe since there are only 2 here and will freeze the rest.I'm cooking the macaroni and and my husband thinks it taste almost identical to Carrabbas..he said oh boy that cook knows what she's doing!!! ha ha thank you and I sure hope people try this..It's wickedly hot here in Georgia but I can tolerate a bowl of soup as long as I don't make it scalding hot which I like..best to come when we defrost and that will be for company perhaps..

Made this - it was excellent. Your narration was excellent. I did use a 16 qt. stock pot and was glad I did. I was wondering how it would be using water as the liquid instead of stock, and it was perfect. My only mod was to add some white pepper. My family loved it. Thank you.

May I say that I would love to see your recreation of Marie Calendar’s meat loaf! I had a meat loaf sandwich there for the first time the other night and really liked it. Just a suggestion. Thanks for what you do! We’re making this recipe for the first time in a few minutes. I wanted to watch your tutorial one last time.

I have been trying to recreate the Gumbo soup from Deanie’s in New Orleans, LA. Not sure if that’s something you can look into. I’ve gotten very close but I’m still missing something.

I wouldn’t recommend it. You need to chicken to create the chicken stock for the soup. 🍜

Casa Gallardo's mild and hot salsa. They have long since vanished from Florida but I wake up daily wishing I could go sit at their bar, eating chips and salsa and sipping on a margarita with the glass rimmed in salt.

@@RestaurantRecipeRecreations we are having to return home for our meals due to my husband having a extreme reaction to canola oil or any blend with canola oil. We are accidentally finding it in so many things, even where not expected like Dairy Queen Blizzards. ER visits within 6-8 hours for shots of Morphine and Phenergan. We get surprised about every 6 months usually when a trusted place had to change due to the F D A. Plus there is some emotional tolls on “comfort foods”.

You've come to the right girl! Born and raised in Chi. An authentic Chicago dog has exactly this: 1. Vienna Beef hot dog 2. Vienna Beef hot dog buns, poppyseed (steamed) 3. sliced tomato ( no ketchup! Not ever!) 4. diced sweet onion 5. french's yellow mustard 6. Mrs. Klein's Green relish (Vienna makes one too) 7. Celery salt 8. Marconi Sport Peppers 9. Sliced dill spear ENJOY!

My rule of thumb when making a soup with pasta is to always cook the pasta separately and then add at the very end. Just continue to heat the soup long enough to heat the pasta into the soup. Otherwise I find, the pasta gets mushy and yuck!

That's right. Carrabbas takes properly cooked pasta very seriously. But at home I prefer to use orzo. Give it a try next time and let me know your thoughts.

What is kosher salt?

Kosher salt is a non-iodized salt that has large crystals. Morton's makes one and it is ideal for cooking and seasoning foods.

Followed the directions but after simmering for 2 hours my chicken was done and there was no flavor left in the chicken and the broth was so bland. It was a waste of a great farm raised chicken. This did not taste like Carrabbas chicken soup.

I'm sorry to hear that, Pam. I've made this exactly the same way several times, in trials and research and in the actual video. This was not my experience at all. I did mention in the video that you needed to salt the soup, to taste.
