Chin chin or Chinchin is a deep fried pastry that is similar to cookies in texture and taste. It is well known and loved in west African countries such as Cameroon, Nigeria and Ghana.
This is my favorite Chin Chin recipe, a west African snack that I enjoyed in my childhood and still do. It is crispy,, slightly sweet, and is usually served at gatherings, during Christmas celebrations or just enjoyed at home or on the go. It brings back so many fun childhood memories. 1 & 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 cup sugar
1 & 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) butter or margarine

1 litre canola or vegetable oil (for deep frying)
