The texture will look more beautiful if you connect a color ramp node between BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST and EMISSION and then a WAVE TEXTUREnode between BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST and COLOR RAMP and then customize everything like adding colors in color ramp i would prefer black , red , cyan and white colors respectively . And at ease instead of linear , customize the size of wave texture , detail etc.

It all breaks down for me on the smoke system. Go to flow control, change mesh to particle system, no particle systems list. Blank selection box. I can specifically assign the particle system to the smoke domain but then all the particles generate from the domain bounds.

I also use After Effects, but I’m sure in Blender you can just bring it into the compositor and add or screen an RGB node over the top of that render and then add a Glare node and a vector blur node afterwards.

@@ciaranpmryan You should be able to make the 3D smoke simulation have a glow and different colors right there in the 3D space too. I know this is possible, but not how. Prolly some nodes thing. I think this is how they did spell blasts in Harry potter, for example. Making simulations combining fluids and particles and coloring them and having the glow right in the VFX software. Maybe in Houdini or The Foundry. I always feel like the physics and appearance of the kind of "smoke" those movies and other he Hollywood movies with magic effects like them look way different though. How do they make it look so not like smoke???

Iridesium do you do any work with natron? Also side note, your videos would be 10x if you slowed them down a bit and explained the parameters, and the why behind what you’re doing. The view isn’t going anywhere, we came to learn and a 30 minute video is no deal breaker. We’re here because we fans already. I watched so many tutorials, and one of the largest factors in how much usability people can garner from them, come from the why explanation... it’s so important in being able to apply the learning to work beyond the tutorial. But natron... have you taken a look at it?

Unless you are an expert on blender good luck following this guy. If you are an expert, you probably don't need this tutorial. He moves way, WAY too fast with not nearly enough explanation of what he is doing. He doesn't have the outliner on so its impossible to know on what item he is making settings on. I couldn't get the smoke to work right, assuming it had something to do with under the smoke physics tab, smoke-flow-particle system, there was no particle system to select for some reason. This 12 minute "tutorial" took me over 2 hours to get through and result was not nearly as nice as his. Disapointing to say the least.

He's right. It's more a 'how to' for people giving hints what to do rather than teaching new abilities. I don't usually comment on video tutorials - I take what I get. But you were quite misleading with your title, and what you actually delivered. Very unfortunate. The title states "How to Make Cinematic Energy Blasts in Blender". This is WRONG. You showed us how to essentially make expanding smoke. That's it. For the Cinematic Energy aspects, you mention at the end of the video to use After Effects. I specifically wanted to see how to do this in Blender, and ONLY Blender. Some of us are learning, and we don't even have access to After Effects. In the future, please be more specific with your titles. And if you ARE going to mention at some point that you need something like After Effects to finish the final product - you should state that upfront.
@SteelShadowAnimations5 жыл бұрын
Hey, if you see this comment I will tell you how to get the end result the he got. while having the domain selected go to change the setting from smoke to fire and then open a new window if the shader editor open. After that press shift A and insert in a value node and set the value between 20-40 try 20 first. Connect that to the blackbody intesity on the principled volume node. You can then change the color of the explosion by changing the blackbody tint on the principled volume node. Hope this helped and by the way my channel does the tutorials all in blender if you like to subscribe or check it out. I also used blender 2.81 for this and you may want to upgrade to blender to 2.8 at least if have not already it makes things a lot easier.
