For the first time, I saw cement and wood coming together. 👏

The wood metal you have be cool to put cement in middle there too. Have dark wood and cement or even resin would look good too

Good tip on sanding the coasters before you cut them apart. I wish I had though of that (If you catch my video next week you will see that I did it the long and hard way) Great coasters, thanks for sharing!

O yeah I am trying to be more mindful about sanding and finishing at appropriate times. I have a video coming out soon that did not work out that way haha.

I found using just regular ply wood, coating it or basicly painting it with a thin layer of epoxy, and then waxing it is a more cost effective way to make a mold...

I used regular clear packing tape from Ace Hardware no problem.

What’s the difference between cement and concrete ? Which is better for coasters?
@KevBotWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
Actually cement is an ingredient in concrete. What i used here is grout. Whatever you use, you want it to be strong. This precision grout is plenty strong without any additives like glass fiber or rebar (though I used screws like it in these coasters just for extra strength.) Mine our plenty strong.. I accidentally dropped one of them on the ground 3 or 4 times until it cracked. The cork bottom actually helps it stay together.

Great stuff, maybe try posting different variations on one kind (like the cement one) so that you can post more and get suggested by youtube's algorithm.
@KevBotWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
Solid idea!!! All about beating that algorithm :P
