You don’t have instruction blindness. The Aeropress community just really knows how to use and preserve this - sometimes better than the company itself.

That's fair. I also usually approach things usually without the instructions to see what challenges I can find (which most people will likely run into)

Now I know how to pack it properly. Thank you for that. Now, to try a cold brew!

Great video. I would be interested in a video of you talking about what coffee means to you. As coffee lovers know, it’s not just the beverage, it’s much more than that. Keep up the good vids

thanks! I've got a whole series where I talk about that sort of thing - kzbin.info/aero/PLs9Z8kJImn-ETN2o1Z3iyxTYz3TKOdZ-3 haven't been doing those as much lately

That’s such a cool explanation! Congrats. Could u please tell me which # was set for the Grinder? And what setting would you recommend for both cold and hot brew ? I have the same grinder. Thanks in advance. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷😉👍🏻

Honestly I don't remember. I should have mentioned on the video. But I'm also always recommending diving in and finding the adjustment yourself, because there are so many variables which can change grind size. But were i to go do this again right now, I would probably start about 40 on the breville grinder and see what result that gave me. Too bitter? go coarser. Too sour? go finer.

Coffee Lovers TV Just tried 30 and it was way better than 35. Both settings for Hot Brew. As for cold brew, 35 was good, but l believe 40 would taste better. All settings according to my taste though. Thanks for your reply

Excellent video as always. Regarding the aeropress assembly there is actually another really crucial reason not to do it the original way which is that the rubber on the plunger will become stressed and misshapen over time if it is left in that position. This goes for the original aeropress as well. As for the cold brew itself, how would you consider the body of the extraction you made? I imagine it would be fairly tea-like whereas some typical cold brews are very heavy for various reasons. Also, can one create Japanese Iced Coffee with the aeropress by leaving the plunger out over a longer period of time? Curious how that might result.

Interesting on the plunger bit. thats how i've always had my original aeropress stored ... no distortion for me, maybe im special :p Yea it was probably more tea like than a standard overnight cold brew, but there's also some filtering of oils going on. Naturally the extraction is different than an actual cold brew, due to the shortness of time and the pressure in extraction (even if its minimal, it still exists). I'm quite curious now to see if you can actually brew just letting it slow drip down with no plunger. Not terribly practical I wouldn't think, but could end up with some cute results. Though I'd think that would just be minimizing the aeropress to essentially a tube holding the grounds.

So no need to leave it steeping for 12 hours?

I see you have a Bambino Plus in the background. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this machine compared to the Barista Touch as I’m considering both. Built in grinder aside, purely as just espresso, which would you prefer?
@Coffeeloversmag4 жыл бұрын
The Bambino has the same boiler tech as the Touch. Same heating capabilities, same milk steaming. Only difference is lack of a grinder, and lack of presets (which are admittedly pretty fun). Also no hot water function for a quick americano. All that being said it makes a great espresso. I like having one every now and then. Not a daily espresso drinker though. The only con I've found is the portafilter basket doesn't fit snuggly. This appears to be a common problem. The basket sticks in the grouphead when I remove the portafilter (even if there is no coffee in there), and pops out annoyingly when trying to remove the grounds.

Coffee Lovers TV Thanks for the info! Did you get rid of your Barista touch to get the bambino? Which machine do you prefer overall?
@Coffeeloversmag4 жыл бұрын
Gave the Touch to a friend. I still like the Touch more (having everything built in one machine makes the entire experience so much more smooth), but it also depends on your space availability and other brewers. I also have the Breville grinder that I use for all my other brewing, and pairs well with the Bambino. So that + space issues makes the bambino perfect for me right now. Gonna probably eventually get a La Marzocco or a Slayer (though these options are like the equivalent of getting myself a Porsche or a Ferrari. Beautiful, but relatively unnecessary)

Since you are sighted, you don’t have instruction blindness. Blind people follow instructions no visually!!!
