Thank you for taking the time to do this video! I just made my daughter a Sesame Street themed chalkboard sign. I originally ordered one off Etsy, but the seller hasn't responded at all. I checked at it said it will be ready on Monday. Her party is SUNDAY! I can't believe that it actually takes an entire week (I ordered last Monday). Hi Tracey, I’ve learned a lot from your videos, thank you! I’ve had trouble finding someone to print a different poster (similar) without having a glossy finish. The Office Max near me printed out horribly with lines going through it, and a copy place as well as a place that prints for architects did the same. Staples charged me $30 for a 2’x3’ page. Any other suggestions?

Thank you for the video. Whenevr I create a new text box it overlaps with the previous textbox with writings. How can I void that. My shapefill and shape outline colors are black which makes me feel as black boxes and not as actual chalkboard background, whereas I see ur to be white in the video. I did do the wrap behind the text when I started. Not sure what I am missing :(

One of two things are happening... 1. when you add a new text box you must be sure no other text box or picture is selected (the boxes around it) or it will overwrite the current object. 2. You can move text boxes around by using your mouse or arrow keys. When you add a text box, make the Shape Fill "No Fill" and Shape outline "No Outline" rather than black.

Hi there, I’ve had some trouble printing a large 24x36’’ print. Although I used the large file format as you instructed (for a chalkboard background), the printer I use said it was all distorted. Also, when I picked up my first print from Office Depot, it had lines all the way through it and they said that’s normal. Then, I used Costco bot they said anything larger than an 11x14 would be a glossy finish (although they called it something else). Obviously that defeats the purpose of a ‘chalkboard’ background. Any other options?

I've almost always (with the exception of once) used Costco so I'm much more familiar with them.... 1. What format did you send the first printers (.pdf or .jpg)? Did it look like there were lines in the .pdf or .jpg? 2. I've never seen lines though mine...not sure what to make of it unless I can see it. 3. I've always printed on glossy, even with chalkboard, from far away it still looks cute and has the effect, I've never had the need to have it look exactly like a chalkboard but I've always created them for party's etc...so no need for it to have the mat look...

It's easier to print to OfficeMax as they take .pdf's and finding high res converters is more challenging but both work great!

Another option you can do is click on File > Export > Create PDF...hope that helps.

When you say the images are distorted...when office max prints? Or do they not print to .pdf correctly? Have you tried going to Export > Create PDF/XPS.

You need to download the fonts and symbols. In the notes of this video it states the fonts I used (symbols are just fonts). I am using Word 2013. You may need to upgrade as that is a newer feature of Word.

That is really hard to do, images are difficult to make translucent....The only think I can think of is to cartoon a picture, then edit the picture and remove color, one color at a time.....let me know if that works. I can play with it next week as well but you need a very specific picture to make that work!

I always use stock paper (the thicker paper) and just use glue dots to stick them to eachother and/or a colorful straw.

For the water bottle labels you for sure want to use stock paper (thicker paper) as there are typically ridges in most water bottles. It will hold up better!

I use normal stock paper purchased at office max. In order to apply them, get some clear packing tape, pull off the existing water bottle label, then lay the printable label on a table take the packaging tape and pull it, then apply it across the label (it should fit nearly perfect with a little room on top and bottom). The just apply the tape around the water bottle, they turn out beautiful!

deepthi a okay....which print to pdf are you using? Print to Microsft PDF typically works better than others...you could try to download a new pdf converter plug in....the other option is to remove one or two of the frames/text boxes and see where the problem is, this doesn't happen often but occasionally certain fonts will cause the alignment to get messed up. Did you use other fonts other than the ones in the video?
