How to Make Compost Tea

What is the shelf life of the compost tea after it has been brewed? If I ferment enough to make a 55 gallon barrel of compost tea and use half now what will the status of the remaining half be in a week or two for another treatment? Or alternatively, how long will it remain potent if only diluted as needed? Should the undiluted mixture be refrigerated? Also, is it better to simply let it ferment, or could it be aerated and if so would that speed up the process?
