This is the best video on making discs!! Tip: you should have weighed the materials in two bags and not mixed them, with the aim of making two mixtures at once, one more liquid with finer sand for a better finish on the outer faces and another with more stones for the inner part. You do not mention whether, once dry, the discs weigh what they indicate. It is very important to use something to vibrate the concrete, you can also use a rubber hammer and tap it lightly around, especially on the bottom cover.

Advice: To avoid voids in the concrete, use a vibrating device or manual vibration for placement and compaction. Alternatively, consider using a self-compacting concrete mix. Well done though, I like the techniques and the final result

you can use a sander for vibration to get the air pockets out of the cement while it’s in its drying process. But, you have to leave one side open. It will stay flat and even during the whole process.

Yes, this is his only major mistake. There are many tools that be used as an improvised vibrator, or even just rent a real one from a tool store for a day to complete the castings.
@zbigniewczaykowski5142 ай бұрын
@@1quickdub Yes i use a sander for smaller stuff and a masonry drill with a blunt bit for bigger stuff, it also helps if you do a slightly wetter mix, will take longer to dry but has better settlement and will give a better finish.

Use Rebar, use the thin ones, make two squares tie them together and put them in around the middle where it is not visible put one layer of concrete put them above it and cover it filling the spaces, the space between both squares can be small. That is the difference between it breaking apart with 1 fall and breaking apart with 10.
