Berdasarkan salah satu hasil penelitian di UPN, tentang pembuatan herbisida dengan air kelapa, ternyata fermentasi menggunakan air kelapa akan menghasilkan senyawa alkohol dan asam asetat yang dapat membantu melunturkan lapisan lilin atau wax pada permukaan daun, sehingga akan mempermudah kontak antara bahan aktif di permukaan daun gulma. Selain itu alkohol juga dapat meningkatkani ph cairan pada tubuh tumbuhan gulma. Kemudian karena alkohol juga bersifat toksik atau racun bagi protoplasma yang ada pada tubuh tumbuhan, tentu senyawa ini akan membuat tumbuhan gulma mudah dibasmi. 🙏

Masa simpannya bisa lebih dari 1 bulan. Tetapi perlu diketahui, karena adanya proses fermentasi, maka di sepanjang waktu penyimpanan, jangan lupa untuk melakukan pembukaan tutup secara rutin minimal 2 hari sekali.
