As an older creator who is just starting out, your advice of using tik tok as another platform, was life changing for me. When you stated the fastest growing audience right now on tik tok was 35-55, I ran, not walked to get involved more on it. In a week and a half, I went from 55 followers to 1500 and climbing. Because of tik tok, I grew my slow growing youtube channel. I found more people who were interested in gardening. So, THANK YOU!

@@JadeRobertsMELBOURNE I was scared to. It took my 12 yr old grandson to show me how to set it up. I'm on Instagram as well. But it's taken over a year to get 950 followers. I've got 2388 followers in two weeks and 33 new subscribers to my KZbin channel. I make gardening videos on tik tok. You can do this, it's worth it!

@@WheretheYoCalsGrow how did TT help grow your YT channel?
@LouYorkLife2 жыл бұрын
@@heysimmone grand rising. I don't know his specific reasons, but the general rule and reason is... 1. Organic reach is more available on TT than the limited reach allowd by IG and FB for example. 2. When you are able to link your IG and YT on TT. 3. When you start to attain engament and followers, especially if you have valuable content per your audience's opinion, on TT, people will check your links out. In other words, he/she created great content on TT, using it as a commercial because organic reach is available there, to drive traffic to other channels or website. I hope this general, strategic overview is clear and helpful. Have a great, productive day.

I recently listened to an interview of my two favorite KZbinrs talking to each other for like 2 hours and so much great insight was shared. They had very similar experiences starting out, both about 8 years ago. One big thing I learned is - the ability to stay relatable is so important. A lot of KZbinrs I see buy expensive stuff and feel like they need to know everything about what they're doing (even if they're not 100% sure) because they've been in it for so long. Most people watch creators for the journey and the feeling of "I could do that someday". Once you surpass a point where people have a hard time seeing how they would get there or be in your position, it becomes hard to build real fans for the long haul. Staying transparent and being completely honest about everything can really help this, but I feel a lot of creators miss this opportunity because it goes against the narrative of being a famous KZbinr! Great video Gary!!

One advice that Gary said that to me is gold : Do not fall in love with the platform that got you there >>>> I am a youtube for over 1.4 millions subs and I was Falling in love with youtube platform, and that blinded me from exploring better chances, but after their unreasonable strikes ( 2 community strikes in less than 72 hours on videos that are 2 years old), I started to acknowledge my mistake... now I have my own show in contract with snapchat that make away more money and reached over 3 billions views in 11 months while youtube only 100 millions + my fame is 90% due to the show getting on trends very much every week ...... thank you Gary

I think the other reason people don’t jump to the next platform is, time. Every platform takes time and you only have 24 hours. Every time you start something new you have to stop something old. Judging the balance of the worth of a new thing versus the thing you were already doing is the battle.

Gary's right. It's important to understand this. Don't listen to people who say that someplace is only for A, B, and C. No one knows when that place will evolve and everybody will get in there.
@Kahlis82 жыл бұрын
I understand where Gary’s coming from when he says people are worried about failing and that’s why they don’t post on 6 platforms. The other side of the coin is that some people just can’t do it. People have ADHD and are kinds of things that hold them back. Remember double down on your strength? They’re some amazing artists…but they can’t produce, market, and run the label. They need to outsource or a team. Which also takes money and resources.
@henrychang3402 жыл бұрын
I'd say when someone is just starting out and has no money to outsource their work, they can just focus on doing the most important thing first. Maybe that is putting out content and not worrying too much details on other things, but still do it. When it's starting to get to the point where they can afford to outsource to make it more efficient, then do that. It's just an example.

The advice on authenticity during platform shifts was an eye-opener for me. Adapting to TikTok while staying true to your audience is essential for success. Diversifying revenue streams with products aligned to audience interests is crucial advice. It ensures lasting growth and customer satisfaction.
