Can't believe how much of that you did freehand. I know you went to art school, but I suspect you had a lot of talent already.

Thank you so much for showing how to make your beautiful corbels. I love the work that you both do!

Thanks for this. I'm half way through making a pair for a shelf. Looking at your video again i realise i did a tighter second curve on the bottom end so a bit different to yours and a bit more work to cut out. I had 2 of the pieces split on me so i had to glue those bits back on but no problem in the long run. on to the painting stage now :) thanks again

I am sure when corbels were made originally, they hand drew them and used what they had! Great job!!! tfs, Laura

I love the imperfections. If you want perfect, go to a big box, mass produced place!

A trick to not splitting the wood turn nail around and hit it with the hammer. This will flatten the tip so nail is less likely to follow the wood grain.

Excellent tutorial! Thanks a bunch. I'm going to give it a try as buying big corbels are so darn expensive and I like to be able to say, "Oh, I made that." ;-)

If you put carbon paper under the copy and copy it so you can see it much better and easier to cut the corbels.

Those are really cool, but don't they take you too long to make to be able to sell them for a reasonable price? Love them tho.
@JamiRayVintage7 жыл бұрын
When Zeb makes them for resale he uses the band saw. He can cut 4-6 layers at the same time and make a pair of corbels much faster.
