I grew up enjoying cranberry sauce from a can. I think part of the fun was the way it jiggled around on my plate. These days, I prefer making my own from scratch. This sauce is easy to make and will last for one week refrigerated.

RECIPE
✨ CRANBERRY SAUCE with fresh orange and ginger ✨
INGREDIENTS
1 (12-ounce) bag fresh cranberries, washed
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest
1 cup fresh orange juice
DIRECTIONS
1. Rinse the cranberries well. Be sure to remove any that are brown or smashed.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, ginger, orange zest and orange juice. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, uncovered until the cranberries pop. Reduce heat and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes. Stir once or twice while simmering.
3. Let cool, then transfer sauce to a dish and cover. The cranberry sauce will keep for a week, stored in a covered container in the refrigerator.
