In this video I'll show you how to make complex renders with a very basic geometry nodes setup. You can also use a hair particle system, but you might have to mess around with the rotation of things to get it to line up right, though it can work basically the same.
I showed the simple geometry nodes setup I used here, however here is a more in depth guide on that if you aren't familiar with this:

At 8:53, blender uses radians, which means a full turn is 360deg = 2π ≈ 6.28. This means that to snap to the nearest sixth of a rotation you need 6.28/6 ≈ 1.047, you stumbled upon 2π/3 which is about 2.094

Hi max and thanks for the cool tutorial. I am still somewhat a blender beginner and I think it would be cool if you display the keys while you're doing stuff in blender. It would really help beginners to see what the tutor is doing and how they're doing it. I know some people do it with step-by-step tutorials but it would also help with tutorials like this. Thank you!

It might be a plugin but what I did was: Click on the camera > click viewport display dropdown > make sure 'passepartout' is checked and turn the value to 1. You can then right click the top menu, hit 'show header'. IDK how to remove the axis on the top right for only the window though. Its not exactly the same but does help a little bit

I am days new to Blender and was having the same issue as well! Turns out that as you modify an original object, the Scale values eventually are altered and can lead to awkward behavior. Max showed a quick glimpse of the Apply window but I wasn't quite sure what he did with it, why he pulled it up, or even how... Till now. To fix this, first, I suggest you take note of your object's Scale values in the right sidebar Transform window when the "Item" tab is active (Shortcut "N" to toggle visibility). This way you can see the before/after values. To reset an object's Scale values, while in Object Mode, select object > CTRL/CMD + A > choose "Scale" in the Apply window. And voilà!!!! You have reset your Scale values and now the Inset tool in Edit mode should work as intended. I'm not quite sure if this neat trick has its tradeoffs but so far, it's working for me. I like when issues like this happen because then you get to learn valuable tips to fix them. Keep Blendering Sankalp!!! 😁
