For one batch : 1 Cup Flour 1/2 tsp Salt 2 Eggs 1 1/4 Cup Milk 2 Tbsp Butter melted Edit : if you ,like me, forgot to sift the flour, don’t worry, put the final batter through a sift. This is before adding butter .

@mariettevisser36125 жыл бұрын
We make crepes A LOT! My boys absolutely love them! As we are from South Africa, we call them pancakes, but they are the same as your crepes....very thin. We have them with lots of different fillings. We regularly have crepe evenings! Then we start with some kind of savoury filling and end with one or 2 sweet ones! I'll share our fillings with you: *The most traditional in South Africa is cinnamon-sugar that you sprinkle all over the crepe and then roll it like a swiss roll or cigar. For me, I add the lemon juice too! It is just delicious like that! *Caramel/Dulce de leche and banana *Nutella and banana *Caramel with a little whipped cream and n good sprinkle of grated/chopped mint chocolate *Pastry cream with fresh fruit of your choice or even just some cinnamon with that (that is a play on our traditional milktart we make here) *Your favourite preserve with a little whipped cream *Chocolate mousse with fresh strawberries Goodness, the sweet varieties are endless! Savoury fillings : *Mix grated cheese, chopped crispy bacon, finely chopped chives and a little mayonnaise *A creamy chicken & mushroom *Chicken & mayo (add a little curry powder and some finely diced tinned apricots for a lovely different variation) *Savoury mince and then you top it off with a delicious cheese sauce (this one is the favourite at my house) *Tuna, sautéed onion & green pepper mixed with white sauce or cheese sauce *Cream cheese with salmon *Cream cheese with salami/ham - these are ideal for a savoury platter. Roll the crepes tightly and cut in slices. They look beautiful on a platter *use it like you would a tortilla/wrap - it is not as strong though *use the crepes instead of pasta sheets when making a lasagna *you can make wonderfull crepe cakes I hope I have inspired you all to try out Carina's delicious crepes!

When I was in France, my Aunt took me to one of the best creperies in the town. We had savory crepes which had leaks and scallops in it. They were so divine. This is a recipe that is tad over the top. I mean everything was spot on with the ingredients but the waiting part eh.. you really don't have to wait an hour. I thought there might be a slight difference if I do it like this, but I barely noticed the difference. Mixing it all together from the beginning and just tilting the pan works just as well. I'd say the most important thing is to make sure your pan is not overheated as it will burn the pancake below while you wait for the top to dry so you can flip it. And the texture of the crepe depends on your personal taste. If the mixture is too watery then they will turn out pretty thin and you'll have to eat more of them since they will be really light. If the mixture is thicker the pancakes will be chewier and just eating two will be too much. It's really a preference. While you're making the rest of the mixture, cover the pancakes with something so they remain warm. If they dry out they will crack when you're trying to roll them. I loved the lemon sugar combination. It was the first time I heard of it. Other than the Nutella version, I like to eat them with butter and honey, or marmalade with cinnamon powder. It's divine.

In Slovenia we eat crepes A LOT. In them we put marmelades, nutella or just lemon with sugar. We call them pancakes ( palačinke). I make them very frequently but i tried your recipe because i never put butter in crepes. I made the crepe dough just an hour ago. i cant wait to bake them tomorrow!

Dear Carina, i love your recipe for the french crepes and it is the only recipe that i now use. My favorite filling is equal parts of cream cheese and sour cream mixture topped the some sour cream and home made strawberry preserve or peach preserve!!!🙏😋👨🍳, thanks a whole bunch for this recipe, i love it! I tried these and it turned out fantastic! The crepe was thin and elastic. I added 1/4 tsp of sugar with the flour, and a dash of vanilla extract to the completed batter. Then, I filled it with strawberries.
