OMG Thank you! I watched so many horrible videos and was about to give up. This was the simplest way without spending money to make a frame. Just for kicks, I typed a word in Canva, using a font I own to see if it would work and I am glad to say it does. Game changing. Made a frame of each letter.

I learned so much by watching this video! I have been trying to create custom frames, but it became so complicated with PowerPoint, Canva, Photoshop and other apps that made vector creation impossible! You did such a great job explaining the different variations of vector creations. I was easily able to combine multiple vectors and make 1 frame. Thank you!

@@pixelandbracket I have been using Canva to create digital junk journal kits. One of the things I am finding difficult is layering different patterns and images for a distressed vintage look where on some areas of the page the damask pattern is more visible and others adverts or calligraphy comes through a page designed with a rose wallpaper. I can sort of get the look but haven’t masters the correct process of maybe tools. Do you have any tutorials that sound promising?

If I understand you correctly, sounds like a lot of blending images, which from my quick search is pretty difficult in Canva. I don't have anything right now, but I'll keep blending photos in mind for the future!

When bringing over text from Figma by itself, make sure if the text extends beyond the borders (e.g., an italicized text), you need to manually extend the border size or it will cut off part of the text.

THANK YOU! Apparently canva thought it was more important to bring in an AI feature before letting people mask with their own shapes or simply change the corner radius of an image. THIS workaround was what i was looking for, thank you!

Nice. When creating on your canva canvas, and you just want the images, elements or layers (without the background layer) onto an html page, I assume the only way to get the canvas (square) not to be a square is to export with transparent background. There is no way to make the background transparent on the canvas (or is it transparant/non existant by default, as it's just a work space. A lot of background eraser tools show the design with the checkerboard background so it's more easily recognized as being removed. (Not seeing that throws me off). I guess I could put in an image the size of the canvas and make it transparent to get that feel... or learn to ignore it. Correct?

Hi Really like your video, it is very easy. I do have a question. I', having trouble getting the pictures after exporting from figma. I'm grabbing silhouette pictures that I can change the colour. Then over to Figma, I change colour to the checker, then export. Back onto canva try to delete the checkers and I loose everything. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

This is extremely helpful and great explanation so thank you for doing this video. I didn't even know about Figma before.. my Q is how do I easily make a frame/outline of the actual frame? I tried in Canva but I can't seem to select the 'outline' tool when its a frame. For something like a square or circle I can used shape in Canva but often the custom frame I want to make has a unique shape, for example fonts or certain SVG silouettes. I can't figure out how to make this outline! please help.

I have vector (SVG) files. one for each US state. They are outline shapes with the name in script along the outside, and the inside is blank. I want to fill the blank inside with road maps of that state. I've followed your instructions. Since the vector is only the shape and not a fill, is there anyway to fill them in? video was brilliant as far as I could take it, by unfortunately my version of canva pro does not have a detach image option ANYWHERE! so I had to give up then. not your fault but it just doesn't exist, there is only a replace background or remove background option update I thought your rectangle fix linked was be the solution but my vector is a circular paintbrushed image and not a rectangle and there is still the issue of no option to remove image

When I remove the extra 'groups' and try to leave the one with just the image. My image all of a sudden becomes a black rectangle and the correct Image is gone. How do I fix that? I am also using a custom design and not just one off of Canva.

I’m pretty sure I tried and wasn’t able to get it to work right, you can use ppt/word I think but they are a bit different and harder to be custom. Figma is free to use tho, and also great to learn!

It's not working for me, whenever I try to upload a PDF from the project, the Detach image option is not available anymore and when I try to directly delete it, the whole pdf gets deleted.
