I like he doesn't use the typical grim reaper style of scythe, but it shares the distinction of a harvesting tool weapon. Edit: I know it's a sickle, not a scythe. I meant he uses a weapon normally used as a tool to harvest crops similar to the scythe, so he still follows the archetype while doing something unique.

As the Scythe or Sickles were originally related to a character named Cronus in Greek Mythology. Who HARVESTED (get it) the souls of the dead. Later depictions of the Reaper would carry on this trait, since it was very fitting for the manifestation of Death to carry a tool that was used for harvesting.

Probably wouldn't be that hard, if you want the ends to connect, use some magnets, and if you wanna have them extend, add smaller pipes inside how they make toy lightsabers extend.
