As someone who does detailed avatars, i recommend taking inspo from other avatars but dont copy completely. Styles that r easy to make detailed outfits r alien inspired outfits, fairy and ocean themed!

the r6 base is bigger than the other bases we usually use today so i use classic clothing and avoid layered clothes because they will look stretched out. Use 1.0 accessories because the 3.0 ones were designed for modern bases which are significantly smaller

For me, I usually take a few items I really like and style them! For example, spiky red steampunk goggles, I use a red lace top with a bit of blood and dark jeans with a few studded belts and a knife. I can make that simple avatar even more detailed by adding bandages, chains, and lots of necklaces.

Another thing I recommend is checking out games like the Garrison, the Black Cat, Evade, or anything that may have an “older audience” of players. Just walk around until you see someone with a fit you like. I love this method because people tend to have really nice avatars in these games, so I take a picture of them and search their wardrobe for the items they used plus more. I literally have a folder on Catalog Avatar Creator called “stolen fits” for that reason lol, and all the fits are named after the users I stole from in case I want to check their inventories again. There’s one specific person I’ve stolen like 3 or 4 outfits from because I loved their designs so much 😂 I’m too broke to afford them but it’s nice to have the folder for inspiration, and it acts as a second inventory in case there’s an accessory someone has that I want to use in another outfit.
