Does it have to be Johnsons Baby Shampoo? Is there something in it that other shampoos don't? What about dishwasher liquid? My yard is all roots and/or compacted clay. I need to dig a fairly large hole to bury my beloved dead cat, but can't find anyone to help me, and being elderly I don't have the body strength to dig it myself. Once I get the hole dug, he's in a sturdy plastic bin and I plan on scattering lime all inside & around the hole. Should I put gravel in the bottom of the hole also? Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated. . . Considering how many people have to bury their pets in their yards maybe a video with helpful hints for the process would be well received.

@@briannab5296 nope this was equate. I use dollar store stuff all the time. With dish soap, do NOT GET ONE THAT IS ANTIBACTERIAL OR ANTIMICROBIAL, this will keep Benificial microbes in the soil.

If using baby shampoo, will this hurt the pre-emerg barrier at all?

So it would work it through the soil a little (baby shampoo can be used to flush nutrients through the soil) . If you’re 2-3 times ur fine… but do not go ham with it during the pre in bare areas.

@@saunseri5672 usually I tell people to do it overnight so put it down the night before and then dig the next day so you can get enough moisture down deep. The shortest period of time in between digging and putting it down should be about three hours.

Huh. What if I'm putting a compost bucket in the hole? How's that gonna impact the health of my soil? Seems like not the best idea.

@@RubyRedDances lol 100,000’s of people have watched my video for using shampoo across their lawn… no issues. Ask golf courses (where I got the idea about baby shampoo) why they use surfactants / stickers other turfs… Do NOT use antimicrobial or antibacterial and you’re fine. 🙃
