How to Make DIY Cowrie Shell Earrings by Denise Mathew ( Viewers Request)

Here's another project for DIY earrings. This is a viewer request and once again I worked with materials that I haven't used before but I feel that the results turned out well 😊 This tutorial teaches you how to create Cowrie Shell earrings that have a lot of character with an exotic Caribbean flavor. You need very little wire wrapping skills and minimal tools. So let's get started!

For the earrings in the tutorial I used , 2, 1 inch, 2, 3/4, and 2, 1/2 Cowrie shells, 1 1/2 feet of 22 gauge wire and 2 ear hooks for finished Earrings that measure 3 inches from top to bottom.

I think it better bind every seashell separate and then connect them with wire rings for chain moveability.

Awesome! Cowrie Shell Jewelry (earrings, chokers/necklaces, and bracelets) are the only type of jewelry I wear. What exact brand of wire did you use?

I like Beadsmith gold plated copper wire, also artbeads.com have a good Designer wire that is their brand. Hope this helps 😊
